Me and my friend both bet $2000 on the Epstein files not being released today (the rules that were it wouldnt contain any new novel information connecting Epstein to a new associate) which is arguably didn't but the market still resolved to yes. We were going to make like 18k and split it.

Ive lost a decent amount of money gambling before never this much. Before this I recently became obsessed with this 40 year old woman I met cause it seemed like she was lightly affectionate towards me and my brain always goes that way I'm a 21 year old guy. Meeting her was what really caused my downward spiral and I started drinking and taking pills every night after work to try and pass in my sleep but I haven't. I've become obsessed with so many women and my heart can just not survive it anymore. Even if they show interest im too timid to do anything about it

I've really lost all hope. My heart cannot survive this world

Also I know the Epstein thing sounds dumb but it's not joking. I was just genuinely convinced there wouldn't be shit because they already delayed it

I don't know if you have any depressive periods, but the gamboling and romantic episodes sound a little manic. You may want to consider either bipolar1 or 2. The problem with gambling is similar to other self-stimulating activities, they tend to require more frequent or intense dosages to produce the same effect and thus lead to addiction.

It's a normal human reaction to years of severe loneliness. The gambling is just a last ditch attempt to have a reason to live

I do think I probably have something like CPTSD but I've never seen any kind of mental health specialist so I can't say

try doing an honest self assessment about how much gambling plays an active role in your life and how much you feel you "need" it. its a very sinister addiction that often gets written off and isnt talked about enough. if you feel like youre "missing out" or "cant" without gambling in any capacity... well, thats clearly a problem. real friends will respect you saying youre not going to gamble anymore and will keep you from fucking up your life further. be honest.

also, repeatedly getting obsessed over many different people at such a young age sounds like you absolutely need to talk to a professional about why to help yourself break those destructive patterns. obsession to self-detriment is not a normal reaction.

I lost my first paycheck ever betting on Xworld. It was traumatic; my suicidal instincts were hyper-activated. I stayed away from all betting to avoid repeating the same mistake. But I learned how to leverage Bitcoin (which made me lose more money), but I don't regret it and I didn't get addicted either. Maybe your mistake wasn't betting on polymarking, but on your risk management with amounts that were too high for your personal life. I'll give you the best advice of all: NEVER TRY TO RECOVER WHAT YOU LOST BY DOUBLING YOUR BET. You don't want to see a new post of yours saying you "lost over $2,000." If you want to risk money, prepare for 2026 because Bitcoin has entered a bear market trend, and buying it in the middle of next year might be smart.

Well I turned my last 40 cents into $9 betting on football and basketball games and got 4 in a row right so I'll probably just try to build off that now

There's a psychopathology called wanting to recoup lost value by gambling again. Do some self-analysis to see if you're being driven by the feeling of not accepting the loss. I almost took out credit card loans to try and recover what I'd lost. Luckily, the bank didn't allow it at the time.

Idk I just think it's fun lol. I turned $90 into $230 one time getting on a football game. Then I lost it all betting on crypto prices and somehow I took that worse than this. I've pretty much accepted it I should've learned my lesson the first time but as long as I'm only using money I earned from here in the first place

I never understood traditional gambling. It's stacked against you.
At least in stocks it's way more in your favor if you know what you're doing + do your DD. Especially in the current market where you could almost throw a blind dart at most stocks and gain $$$$ from it for the past few years.
Sure might not be +100% gains overnight, but %5-50% over a few months is easily doable on kinda safe bets, and once you get the ball rolling you're playing with house money as well, so even if you make a bad call, you can sell at a slight loss, but still be overall positive, not outright lose the entire bet/investment right off the bat.

Gambling is bad, though. It's good to know why you're doing it. Is it something like bipolar or ADHD or are you trying to run from something and use gambling as a way to cope?

Wait... what's the point in betting on crypto prices? I mean... if you're betting it will go up, why wouldn't you invest in it, and that way at least you still have something as opposed to the nothing you have when a bet fails.
