Hi there, I am drafting out my final will and researching preferred disposal methods. I'll be writing a holographic will to avoid alerting anyone of my intentions, saving up for a green burial + shroud, and taking time to scout out the best location in the forest i love hiking.

I am trying to find a measure of control in this because my death being across provincial lines from any next of kin and requesting my (ex?) Boyfriend to be executor of my will complicates things.
Am I alone in this desire for control? Is anyone else trying to ease the burden on their loved ones as much as possible?
I'm currently in a state of distancing myself from others to reduce the intensity of the loss.

I don't know why I'm writing this, but I guess it's nice to get it out and I would like to maybe hear if anyone else has been planning for what will be done once you're just meat

You have to look up the rules regarding holographic wills in your jurisdiction. It might not carry any weight at all depending on your situation and location. Can you have it notarized or something without letting anyone know?

I've done the research and they are recognized in my province! I'm also extremely lucky to have 3 green burial options, one within a 10 minute drive of the city i live in!!

It was a big concern of mine because I would otherwise need 2 witnesses and one of the only people I can ask is a beneficiary so they can't even witness in the first place. There are plenty of handwritten notes in my home and I plan on recording myself write part of it just to avoid any potential hiccups with the legality of things :) thank you for asking. I am going to have a little note with everything my executor will need to know regarding my wishes and stuff
