I wouldn't personally idolize it. It's a personal case of what you want/don't want from life, often some of us never wanted to exist in the first place, other times some of us were fucked over so hard in life that we can't come back from it. Though it has to be said that it takes a certain strength of will to go through with it all. I wouldn't call it heroic, but it's a struggle with an end.

Personally i don't really see it as a mystery. It's an act of courage anyway because SI is a beast, but honestly it's more about causes and consequences; i wouldn't classify myself as a hero, rather as someone who didn't make it.

Is someone who kills their tormenter a hero? Is someone who kills someone out of rage a hero? Is an attempted murderer a hero? Suicide isn't something to be idolizing nor should it be something that is romanticized. It's killing someone. It's not heroic.

I wouldn't call it heroic. But it's immensely brave. To give up everything you know to be real and true, to enter into a world of potential non existence, or an afterlife with no solid proof, takes nerves indeed.
People who say suicide is "the cowards way out" have clearly never actually sat and thought about it.

It would be better if you could make it look accidental to lessen the impact on ur family and friends.

Yup, that's only said by folks who have never stared down the barrel of a cocked & loaded gun. Put that to their head and they'd piss their pants.

Some might say you're abandoning those that might need you the most to serve yourself. They might suggest this is the opposite of heroic.
I would argue that this perhaps bravery and heroism in this context are not the same thing.

Well, shit, ya beat me to it. Not knowing what's out there... It takes serious courage. But yeah, it's not something to idolize.

Of course killing yourself isn't easy for most of us, unless you're under a spell of emotions and driven by impulse like a lemming drawn to the cliff - it's not easy but in that different sense, it's easier to be dead than to live. I understand that phrase as that, not emphasizing how easy it is to do it, but to choose it, and that's everyone's right.

So, I can relate to the "easy way out", not regarding how easy it is to do it (of course it isn't - i'm here where if it was a button I'd press it such a long time ago), but that, for me, and I think for most - being dead would be much easier than sticking on to a life of pain and misery. In that sense, it's easier to quit than stand a life long of hell. Not the act of quitting, going on the bus itself, but the destination.

Having said that, I don't agree at all with that stoic, or whatever you call it attitude that one must endure and suffer life no matter what, for the sanctity oflife, as something so holy and precious. Life can be so full of pain and misery. It can be amazing for others who were lucky, but most don't understand that what they can handle doesn't mean others can, or have to.

Regarding a hero. I don't see anyone ctb as a hero. Some, like murderers or those committing horrific crimes prefer the escape to the terrible judgment, punishment and shame upon them (if they have some conscience).

I do feel, at least personally, that overcoming that enormous strong attachment to life, that horrible subconscious will to live (maybe created from that false view of "what life is", some bullshit meaning and importance value added to it - because i'm an emotional person more than rational), overcoming that mental block locking me in this prison nightmare would be my last and most act of great strength, will power and maybe the strongest sense of taking responsibility for my situation, doing what needs to be done, maybe that's a personal sign of bravery.

That sounds, awfully like pro-life propaganda, comparing a suicidal person to a murdered is pretty far-fetched.

Although sucide shouldn't be romanticized, it also shouldn't be demonized. It doesn't make you a hero nor a murederer, just a person who decided on his own body without affecting anyone.

noun

behavior or talk that is bold or dramatic, especially excessively or unexpectedly so.
"the makeshift team performed heroics"
I suppose blowing your head off with a shotgun could be considered bold & dramatic & excessive and unexpectedly so. After all, have you ever seen a head exploded by a shotgun in real life before? It really is a once in a lifetime spectacle that most people won't even seen once.

Courageous but not heroic unless you death benefits humanity.

i wish i could order my assasination from deep web

Seriously. I would, too.

I know a neighbor across the street has at least one gun, as I've heard him fight with other neighbors and mention grabbing his gun, etc. Sometimes I'm like man, if I could walk across the street, knock on his door and be like hey, so....would you just shoot me in the head a couple of times please?

The other day I legit almost let myself walk into traffic.
