I haven't watched that video. But I'm almost certain that in most of those cases they person falling had something to break their fall. They didn't fall 30000 feet onto solid ground with nothing to protect them.

I sometimes feel this would be easier because it's so rapid but I worry about whether you would register the pain for a long time.

Yes. Each report also mentions how they fell and what they landed on.

I always have, in the back of my mind, wondered if I attempted jumping whether or not I would have the unfortunate bad luck to survive—some dumb circumstance very much like something out of the Road Runner cartoons.
