Buying SN from DMC seems to be a bust as of now, as several payment methods I've tried have failed to go through (awhile ago my bank froze my card over "fraud" that wasn't actually fraud, and now buying anything online is 50/50 if it's accepted). My last resort option in the future is a car garage thing a town over.

It's "only" five stories, but as it's meant for cars and not people, these stories are significantly higher than, say, an apartment complex's. The first story is also even taller because it has a tunnel running through it to divert traffic to the interstate as a through road, and is meant to be able to used by semitrucks and other large vehicles.

Do you think this could be a decent "last resort" method? Obviously SI is a concern, but I mean in terms of lethality and if I can't get other options. I know usually taller is better than these cases and 10+ floors are typically the recommended, but a certain celebrity died not too long ago from falling "just" three (and my dad was baffled when I asked how that was enough to kill someone).

Jumping is a gamble unfortunately. If it was that simple, I would have done it long ago. There's a high chance it will kill you, but also a high chance you will end up with horrible injuries. Please don't try that.

I get that. It definitely wouldn't be an ideal choice even without SI due to those reasons, I'm just considering if it's decent enough as a "last resort" if everything else falls through. Still working up the nerve to just go buy a gun at some point since my state is very fast and loose on the gun laws as long as you don't Have A History (I don't) but worry I'd take awhile to CTB with it, my parents would find it, and I'd get booted out.

I don't want to give you advice, but since we are here... You might combine gun and drowning. Or if you really want to jump, gun + jumping. Drowning is actually a better method if combined with deodorant huffing (please don't huff anything unless you are about to ctb).

This is fair enough. Thanks. It's just really hard to judge distances for things like these because you'll have one person fall a single story in some freak accident and manage to die, but someone else could jump twenty and "live" (albeit likely with a shaky definition of the word).

Here is some data to consider:

Looking at that graph, I'd say you want an absolute minimum of 10 stories. Those are small sample sizes so it's not very conclusive evidence.

Another source says jumping from 150 feet (46 metres) or higher on land is 95% to 98% fatal, that's about 10-15 stories.

If the garage has unusually large stories you might want to measure it, if you can obtain a green laser distance measure those are optimal for these heights.

Higher is certainly better if you can. You also need to be really careful about hurting someone below if you jump from a parking structure or anywhere else in an urban environment. People absolutely do get injured and killed unintentionally by someone falling on them. It also can be extremely traumatic to random strangers to witness, it's gruesome. I highly recommend other methods. If you absolutely must jump, a bridge may be a better option.

I wouldn't do that, there's a risk that you either survive and become crippled/vegetable, maybe you hit someone and of course there's a big chance you'll scar people for life. Maybe you should take some time and think about it. I'd rather you not try cbt, but if you do, please consider another option. There's no stress so take your time to think.

That's a bit of a random number I blurted, but if you look up enough stuff, you'll find plenty of examples of people jumping or falling from heights that kill 99.9999% of others and surviving (albeit often with extreme injuries).

So it seems like jumps are hit or miss in terms of lethality even if they should kill. You can get "lucky" and survive even 15+ stories, I guess. And if that one "black tag lady" story from 9/11 is true, this isn't just with very recent medicine. I probably won't jump if I have literally any other options besides it, but wanted to see what others thought about the numbers here first.

As a plan B and if any other reliable method is not an option, it is a gamble. Only you can decide if its worth it. I'm considering jumping from 9th floor 26 meters as a plan B if I don't succeed in setting up an exit bag on time, and I know its a gamble. I'll try to land head first.

Please don't do this. If you want to kill yourself then that's your decision if you feel like there is no hope. But not this way, low chance of lethality, high chance of living with complications after. Don't do it
