Tales of Vesperia is one of my favourites from the Tales of series mainly because of the characters and how they interact throughout the story. I don't think I've ever enjoyed a main character from a JRPG as much as I've enjoyed Yuri Lowell. Even considering all other games I've played in other genres, I think Yuri is one of my top favourite characters. I also love the English voice over for Vesperia so much. I think it is significantly more charming than the Japanese voice over.
Here are my top 25 favorite JRPG's ever:
1. Chrono Trigger
2. Final Fantasy IX
3. Suikoden II
4. Final Fantasy VI
5. Breath of Fire II
6. Final Fantasy IV
7. The Legend of Dragoon
8. Dragon Quest V
9. Super Mario RPG
10. Wild Arms II
11. Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals
12. Final Fantasy V
13. Dragon Quest IV
14. Breath of Fire IV
15. Grandia
16. Crystalis
17. Dragon Quest III
18. Final Fantasy VII
19. Final Fantasy Tactics
20. Final Fantasy III
21. Suikoden I
22. Lufia and the Fortress of Doom
23. Breath of Fire III
24. Wild Arms I
25. Final Fantasy I
Yeah I've been getting pretty heavy into the Ys series. Played Ys VIII a few months ago and have been hooked since. I have some old Tales of games for the PS3 that I haven't played yet. I was playing Tales of Xillia at one point, however I kept getting filtered by the Nameless Anomaly Butterly/Moth thingie in the gorge. It's so cheap how it flies around everywhere I just can't get passed it and everyone dies quickly.
