in some countries you need to do a literal back flip on your eyelashes to even glance at a firearm that interests you in person. beyond unfair.
end of my vent.

yeah must be awesome owning guns shooting at cans/bottles birds whatever you feel like you got a boomstick in your hands
downside to it some fuckers decide to do mass shootings because of agenda, rage on bystanders that dont deserve it.

Although access to firearms is easier, there are "mass shootings" here almost every single day (and many single, murder-shootings absolutely every day).

I think we all tend to see things as being better "over there" (elsewhere)...

Facts...I think gun violence here in other countries gets reported only in the context of mass shootings with high body counts but senseless murders happen every day here. Recently a college student in Chicago died because of a stray bullet.

Plus we have to deal with trigger happy cops, shitty health care and practically no social networks (ie homelessness is rampant and people have to ebeg to pay for health care).

I grew up in germany and the first time I saw a gun in person was after there was a horrible attack on a christmas market in that country. After that attack, the police would guard entrances to christmas markets around the countries with guns. It was incredibly unreal to me. I was maybe what.. 16 or 17 at the time? I have never seen a gun in my life until that point in my life. Hell, i dont even know what one sounds like. I am not so sure anymore these days if i really want to ctb... but i know that when i really wanted to, i was incredibly jealous of all the americans out there.

I live in the Netherlands and cops carry guns from time to time. But what is more intimidating is what you see in my ancestral country. There are many soldiers guarding various places in the big cities and they all have rifles and they are also in groups. Even in front of regular shops in the shopping center there are guards with AK-47s just chilling on chairs. Or the guards in front of banks. While citizens can buy guns, it is illegal for them to display firearms publicly. So people just have their firearms at home. I'm from a village, some of my relatives have guns as well which they use for hunting birds. Which I totally think is uncool, by the way. I don't like it when animals get hunted but at the end of the day it's their culture and it's not my place to say anything.

Another American coming in.

I'm so sorry that things are so painful and so terrible for you that you wish you had a gun. So, so sorry.

I understand feeling of wanting to end it all right this second but not having the resources.

I once asked my neighbor, trying to sound as innocent and casual as possible, if I could buy one of his guns from him. I think he somehow knew what was going on and responded, "Uuuh...no."

At the time I didn't take into consideration what it would've done to him on a psychological level if I had used his gun on myself.

You can always turn to drug dealers or the dark markets for some potent heroin.

I wish we were lived next door to each other. At least we'd both have someone who understands what the other's "dark side" and what the other is going through.

Again, I'm so sorry that it has come to this for you.

If you sincerely want to ctb and have really thought it through then I hope that you can find your method.

The most ideal purpose of guns is, they are an inadvertent protection against your government. Anytime guns are outlawed, governments become even more tyrannical and the quality of life for the people is drastically reduced. Britain hasn't reached that extreme level yet... I'm guessing that they're waiting for their US counterparts to outlaw guns first, which won't be much longer.

The USA is the best country in the world to live in. Yes, gun are a huge part of our culture. It is with guns that we won our independence. Guns save far more lives every day than they take. The problem we are having now is Joey, the liberal media, all want to turn our country into a socialist shithole where people count on, expect, and have everything provided to them by the government so they can control us. Never gonna happen. The other problem is the liberal media and the corrupt CDC have changed their minds with what they call a mass shooting. Criminals kill eachother with guns every day in the big democratic cities. 3 or 4 drug dealers killing eachother is not a mass shooting but they over report it to scare the sheep.
Ive lived in europe for some time and i was not impressed. Everyone thinks the government owes them something including their protection. We provide our own protection with guns. Thats why the liberals want to take them away and will even do their own televised shootings or just make false flag mass shootings.
Best bet for you is a private sale.

Try living here some time. Most people are never a victim of a crime and never even have contact with the police. Yes, the democrats are trying to fuck this up right now but when Trump gets back in office the country will get back on track.

That's not what I meant. I don't care for gun control or anything. I just never would want to live in the US due to the rampant SJW and degeneracy culture that's going on over there. I would be socially ostracized by both the left and right for different reasons. I'm fine living here in Europe.

My preferred method would be shooting myself. Only if I had access to a gun...
I agree with OP, sometimes I catch myself feeling envious of US citizens for their right to just shop a gun in walmart. I think I would have died years ago already if...

According to politi-fact you're twice as likely to be a victim to violent crime in England and Whales then the US. 2,700,000 to 2,900,000 people die every year in the US. 10000 to 15000 every year are homicides out of a population of 330,000,000. Mass shooting are incredibly incredibly rare (less that 1% of homicides) , school shootings even more rare.

The majority of homicides happen in the inner cities especially in places where it has strict gun control and are democratic run cities and are mostly from gang on gang violence from a failed war on drugs, lack of fathers (this is evident if you look at who makes up 13% of the population and commits 50% of the murders every year. People hating on the US in the US are simply viewing it from a lack of perspective.

The US has it's problems but is still an amazing country to live in, God bless the US no free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.

It would seem to me that more Americans are arming themselves because they sense a very potential and real possiblity of a second civil war coming. I know people who normally wouldn't even think of getting a gun are at least looking into acquiring a side arm. One could always use this rationale to obtain one.

Just wait until you live in an unescapable nowhere stump-jumping backwater where every package is open, everybody is hostile and suspicious and everything is forbidden and you have to jump from a bridge or burn yourself alive, and then come back and tell me "acess to guns isn't worth it" when every 15-year old can get one from their dealer or their shop or whatever.

You are shoving all your ways of life and all your guns down the world's throats then you pretend you are opressed and restricted when you have thousands of bridges, millions of guns and what not.

If you lived in the US why would you use any other method but a fire arm? Living in the UK there is zero chance of getting a gun which makes it all so much more difficult. My brother hanged himself from a tree when he was 19 using his own shirt. I sometimes wonder how long it took him to die, I hope it was quick. I tried partial hanging a couple of days ago and couldn't pass out no matter how many times I tried and was too chicken to jump off the railings on my stairs to do the full hanging. Takes so much guts.

Well, a shotgun loicense works I think. Then separate storage cabinets and showing your permit whenever you buy ammo.

If one is looking to the U.S., yep I live in the upper Midwest, as far as gun aspect goes, sign forms, back ground check and buy. Now if one wants to go another route, then one goes to certain areas of like a metro area and buy off the street. I never have but every once in a while in a drive by, they are caught and sometimes the gun/guns in question have the serial numbers ground off.

I overall am a believer in our system that allows gun ownership. Take one right away and down a slippery slope one might go.
