Isopropyl alcohol (Rubbing alcohol/isopropanol)

Hi guys,
I've really really run out of ways to CTB. My country has really strict laws, and I can't obtain SN as it's illegal. No guns either.
I've been reading up on drinking isopropyl alcohol and the lethal dose is said to be 250ml. The effects kick in supposedly after 30 mins and apparently you black out. Has anyone had any experience with it? It's hardly discussed here. I also want to know if you get discovered too early what are the chances of recovery without brain damage or major disability.

Not to be a downer, but I don't think that'd be a good method... Perhaps you will succeed, but it's going to be a painful death as isopropyl alcohol is beyond irritating to the mucus membranes of the GI tract. Take a small capful if you don't believe me.

I'm not sure about the long term complications of IPA poisoning, but there's better and legal methods out there that are OTC. I'm not sure what country you live in, but I believe there are options besides alcohol.

Would you consider ligature strangulation? It requires no anchor points, more like finding the sweet spot and tightening the rope around your neck.

Assuming that the 250ml has to be 99% pure, I wouldn't recommend this at all. Just taking a deep breath of the stuff makes my nose burn - I'd hate to imagine what it'd do your throat/stomach on the way down!

2-propanol ingestion is rarely going to be fatal.

It is more likely to cause inebriation, dizziness, headache, severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, followed by hemorrhagic gastritis and hematemesis.

It can cause cardiopulmonary collapse and death but not commonly.

Um... I think you must be thinking methanol. Methanol is the alcohol that does that as it metabolizes into formaldehyde, which turns into formic acid and damages the optic nerves. Isopropyl alcohol just metabolizes into acetone.

Isn't this almost the same as ethylene glycol (Antifreeze) poisoning. According to Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethylene_glycol_poisoning), looks like it takes 24-72 to die, and it will be very unpleasant.

I found a bottle pure acetone but not sure if it can help me ctb...

dont know where you read 250ml is gonna be enough, i only found articles saying 400ml+ and its not gonna be fun as the other people said...
its like pills you wont know if you succeed until youre in miserable pain.

Honestly, I don't think you'd want to do that. As acetone is just as irritating if not more irritating to the GI tract. I mean, maybe it would kill you, but it wouldn't be fun. The only alcohol that'd probably be ideal would be 2M2B. I suggest researching it first; you don't wanna use something without prior knowledge.
