I'm really desperate. The only method I can do is full suspension hanging, but the SI is way too strong and I'm scared the the rope will break. My backup method is VSED, but that's really fucking painful so it's a no.

I just want to get cancer so I can die peacefully in a bed 😮‍💨

Cancer takes years, sometimes even decades, after exposure to most all carcinogens to develop, and even then it is not guaranteed. You could smoke a pack a day for 50 years and somehow make it to your death bed at 90 without cancer. It is unpredictable, extremely slow to happen, and excruciatingly slow to kill you. Anything with high enough levels of radiation to give you cancer in a quick manner is going to more likely than not kill you from radiation poisoning first, and is also going to incredibly difficult to get your hands on. Cancer is not something you can just give yourself, there are many compounding factors.

Cancer is not peaceful. Cancer is extremely painful. Also, the fastest cancers kill you in months. But most will kill you over the course of years, so you'll be spending the last few years of your life in extreme pain. Members of my family have died from cancer and their deaths were anything but peaceful.

Several friends died recently from cancer, including one just a couple of days ago. Thanks to the drugs and physical exhaustion, they went quietly but there was absolutely nothing peaceful or dignified about their last few months.

I am sorry you are desperate to die
I am not sure if you can just develop cancer
But I would highly advise against it. I had a friend die from cancer many years ago, and from what their families told me, it was agonizing and unbearable and a slow drawn out death over years
Cancer would probably be one of the most worst painful ways to die

Having witnessed 2 loved ones suffer from, and ultimately die, from 2 different cancers, I can tell you that a cancer death is not something you want. It's a slow, debillitating, agonizing death. The pain killers they give the patients barely take the edge off. It's not like it was before the opioid crisis. Even when you're dying, the doctors are unwilling to prescribe the pain meds in the amounts needed to fully control the pain. And in most cases to fully control pain, so much is needed that it results in unconsciousness, anyway, and that's not something they're willing to do. They save that kind of medicating for Hospice, and even they only give that type of meds when you're near death. I watched my sister slowly decline, little by little, enduring agonizing pain for months and months, with little to know relief. Believe me, dying from cancer is not something you want. I wouldn't want it for my worst enemies.

I can promise you full suspension hanging will be easier and more peaceful. What kind of rope did you buy? Unless you're 500 pounds or over I just don't see rope breakage being an issue. SI is clouding your logical judgement. Ever read the Japanese Suicide Handbook? It reassured me a lot on full suspension hanging. I'd strongly recommend it.

Other than that - smoking a bunch of cigarettes feels really good. God, I miss cigarettes so much. But you're going to be waiting decades for that method. Seriously though - self-inflicted cancer is not a viable method at all.

You mentioned VSED? It definitely wouldn't be my personal first choice but I've read some intriguing success stories about it on here. Keep your focus on either hanging or VSED.

Cancer …depending on which type ain't a peaceful end. I watched my wife die a horrible death despite the drugs ( morphine) they gave her. My advice if you want a quick end ….jump from a great height!

I saw a presentation by a specialist doctor that calculated that Steve Job's cancer started at his late 20s and he died from it at age 56. Also, people, don't be ignorant. Have you seen cancer in the family? Most people die from cancer die in agony. I had cancer in my family and in none of the instances was it "dying peacefully in my bed". They were in bed alright, skin and bones, being turned by nurses every few hours, unable to eat, losing all human dignity. This must be the most ignorant post assuming that you can control what cancer you get, assuming that cancer is fast when in most cases it takes decades, assuming that it is pain free and peaceful when in most cases it is just the opposite. I can only assume OP only came here to vent and have not done any research, and when no research is done, I question intentions.

I have a 5mm cotton rope. By the way, thanks for the book. I'll try to read it when I have time

I'm sorry you are in so much pain and so desperate to die, I'm really sorry. But what you said is pretty invalidating of other people's pain and suffering, who may actually have cancer or have loved ones who have suffered and died from cancer. The realities of having cancer is absolutely horrific, as many have mentioned in this thread.

I'm so sorry but this reminds me of that episode of south park where Randy puts his balls in the microwave to make them bigger but he gets testicular cancer lol.

Anyways I'm so sorry you've suffered so much to consider getting cancer. I mean I don't know if the microwave method will work haha, but I think it's pretty much impossible to give yourself cancer unless you can go to like a nuclear plant or something.

I think maybe the reason why they want to ctb via cancer isn't because it is painless or anything because it's not it's awful, but maybe because it will seem natural and almost heroic, and maybe give their loved ones a lot of time to be able to prepare for their passing. Instead of dying as someone who has killed themselves, they die as someone who was brave enough to fight cancer.
