Is the search function not working?

Hi.
I have been trying to use the search function for a while and it gives the following error:

A server error occurred. Please try again later.

I thought that I needed to be registered to be able to search but after creating an account it's still the same.
I don't want to ask questions that have been already answered on several occasions but without a search function, it's harder to find old threads.
There's also another topic complaining about the search function not properly working but it's closed.

In the meantime both Google (powerful) and DuckDuckGo (privacy) can search specific sites with the syntax:

site:sanctionedsuicide.com [text you want to search for]​

Although they don't index the forum instantly, so you want always get the absolute latest results. But for pointing yourself in the direction of an existing thread, it works well enough.

Nevermind, I found it all on my own. Even worse I've used it plenty of times before and had actually lost it.

I'm guessing site maintenance is going on in the background so just wait a few hours or maybe even a whole day and it should be working again

As a workaround you can use the "activity" tab....

But the search function doesn't really have a workaround apart from the basic one mentioned by @autumnal above, which might suffice for some scenarios....

@Hasssssuùuu and @Meretlein are the two most active mods.

@Hasssssuùuu, it would be nice if a mod would respond to the concerns in this thread and other threads on the forum about why the site function isn't working.
