This applies to everybody. You can hang out with someone special and have a good time, but they're not in your head feeling and thinking what you are. Closeness seems to be an illusion and a very good one. Couple that with the fact that no one will ever really know you no matter how much you tell them because they'll never experience life as you. Everything you could tell someone about yourself will just be filtered through their way of thinking.

We as humans aren't made to connect with other people. Our pain, thoughts and feelings are ours alone. Nobody can feel the same we do and understand what we're going through, they're not in our head.
We're social creatures, we're made to want some form of connection, to be loved, cared for and understood. So I do definitely think life isn't worth living without being close to someone, because it causes great pain and suffering.

that's why I stopped caring about what ppl think of me very long ago. Yes, once you realize the futility of it all...you want to die all the more. Introverts have it right after all.

I do not enjoy the company of other people, but I do not care... the reason why I do not want to continue living is because I am not self-sufficient, in no case is it because I cannot enjoy being close to others.

But each person is different and what makes one person suffer, another does not... so in this case, your question can only be answered by yourself in relation to how you feel about the fact that you expose.

Yes, even most of our own minds are hard to know. Unconscious. Basically we have to do science all the time. That is, seeing invisible mechanisms; guessing and maybe confirming them

I guess that's why everyone I feel close to is good at introspecting and empathy. Added benefit: they transform themselves after conversations. If you transform together, the line between you both starts getting fuzzy, doesn't it?

And ever have the feeling that you have a copy of someone in your head? And it gets more accurate as time goes on? You become more than one person, they're in you

It's true that as humans we are all alone no matter what, other people could never really understand how we experience life but I would personally prefer to avoid other people anyway as humans are capable of extreme cruelty and you cannot trust and rely on them. But to me existing could never be worth it in the first place, when non existence is perfection then this futile process that only leads to unnecessary suffering could never be desirable.

Connection is the only thing keeping me living. I reject the idea that closeness is always an illusion, but too many people fake their way through life that maybe the majority of life's experiences are an illusion. It is rare to find people on your wavelength, but if you do I think you can learn about yourself through them and learn about them through yourself. As you experience life and build memories with those you have a connection with, the differences between you become less. We may all be vastly different, but from another perspective we're all one. Even learning about others we hate can reveal what we hate about ourselves.

The amount of awesome people here is just plain disproportionate. I mean, you go outside, live your real life and one day ask, where are all the cool people? The thinkers, the reflectors, the real ones? They're all here. Fucking brutal. I mean, if anybody should be living, out there and improving people's lives by being small parts of them, knowing what they'll order after waiting in the line for five minutes, fucking VOTING, it's these people right here, with the expiry dates. I've always felt completely alien and detached from the people around me even when I try desperately to relate to them and form bonds. It definitely contributes to the "life isn't worth living" mentality, like being stranded on a deserted planet with a telephone connecting to an inhabited one, but you're on mute/don't understand their language.

Hmmm, interesting question. Maybe puzzling it out is part of the 'fun'. Imagine meeting someone and immediately knowing everything about them... what would you have to talk about? You wouldn't even need to talk presumably- you know everything about them already- or- do you mean it would be more of a case of never being misconstrued when you did communicate?

If it's a deep emotional connection though- God- no- that would be overwhelming probably. Imagine feeling everything someone else is feeling when you met them. Where would it leave space for your own emotions? Imagine trying to comfort someone who was grieving- you'd both be in floods of tears. Sometimes- one person needs to be strong for the other one.

How would you know where your emotions ended and theirs began? Would it be just a very intense form of empathy? What if you couldn't control it? What if you had to REALLY concentrate to control it... Imagine being in a crowded office with a sociopathic boss and all your work colleagues- and you couldn't hide how much you hated your job anymore than they could hide how annoyed they were at you for messing up the last presentation. Honestly- my mind is unkind and muddled enough without knowing what everyone else TRULY thinks!

Where would freedom of thought be in all of this? Nevermind freedom of speech... imagine if people could hear your thoughts all the time... I think it would be a nightmare! Who doesn't have unpleasant thoughts now and again?!!

It's an interesting idea though and I realise I've taken it to the extreme... I wonder how any of us would fair if we lived a different person's life for a while.

Makes you wonder about other animal species. Supposedly, orca's have an area of their brain relating to emotions that is far more developed than ours. It makes you wonder just how they relate to one another. Whether their bonds are stronger than ours. It also makes it all the more appalling when you think about the damage we have inflicted on them in the case of places like Sea World.

There is no such thing as 'perfect' or 'the absolute truth' in life. It is impossible to fully understand and know each other in truest sense. But people don't even know themselves perfectly. With acknowledging inevitable limitations and differences in human relationships, I focus more on commonalities that we can enjoy together and empathize with. And in most cases, that is enough.

I guess this depends on the person. Some people get along just fine without really connecting with anyone. I know humans don't like to hear that, but it's true. For me, personally, I wanted to connect with people. However, time has shown me that most people just simply aren't worth connecting with. Not necessarily because they're evil or vile or something like that, but because they're not ingredient to my life. I don't need to connect with EVERYONE. I would like to connect with someone though. The woman I thought I would spend the rest of my life with left me. I've never really had a family. I have a couple of friends that I would do anything for and am very grateful for. So, I'd say it depends on the person.
