Is it possible to remove the safety catch on windows in a hotel?

In tall hotel buildings they have safety catches on windows so you can only open them a tiny amount, is it possible to remove that, or perhaps I could bring tools to smash the window and then jump? A hotel is the only tall building I can think of that I have easy access to. There aren't any other tall buildings or bridges in my city and I'm not able to travel, I'd run a high risk of being caught and stopped before I got anywhere.

I don't know about removing the safety catches on the hotel windows but is getting to the hotel roof an option?

They usually keep them pretty secure to where you can't open them.

There was a video of a person of middle eastern decent who kicked out the window in a hotel and jumped to his death. It happened a few years ago. It might be posted here in an old thread.
