I just can't grasp a God who cares about us and is all powerful letting things turn out like they've. I'm not an expert on philosophy so i don't know how many exist, but i've read about some of the main rebuttals theologians have made against the problem of evil and they just haven't sat right with me

Massively unfair, unless there's a far bigger picture we can't comprehend. Even then, why write suffering and pain into the blueprint of so many sentient creature's lives?

If there's any kind of creator, it certainly isn't just, considering justice as equality. How to explain a person dying with less than 1 year old, while other pass 100 years?! It's just one of many examples of how creation is really different, a difference that changes the quality of life.

Depends on your definition/understanding of god. If we are talking about the traditional monotheistic understanding of god I still stand by the idea that if there is a "god" he is either:

• Out of control
• Incompetent
• Not benevolent (read evil)

i don't believe in religion anymore...
all this suffering being allowed... i see so much agony in the world, i don't believe there's a god.
at least not "god" as we most of the time think when we hear that word.

if there IS a god, however, i would say he's a jerk for allowing so much evil to take place. but that's not really a topic i should get back into discussing...
i used to spend every day almost on this topic, on another site, and i regret my sarcastic and ridiculing tone i had developed towards religion.
now i just respectfully say i don't really blieve it's true...

Not a believer, though from what I've read this god didn't have any issues with genocide.

Out of respect, I'll stop there. But fair is not a word I'd use to describe it.

Implying an afterlife, I don't really care whether He is. Considering "infinity" is "infinitely" longer than Earth, my capacity to care whether my life sucked or not is 0 to null.
