Drowning is one of the worst deaths in my opinion. Suffocating is painful and the process of lungs being filled with water scares me. Of course hanging is also terrifying but at least it seems faster and more reliable. I tried partial suspension couple of times and I was about losing consciousness within seconds. I hope that one day I will be able to bring the matter to the end. And I wish you to find peace as well.

it seems to me that it's harder to be discovered drowning however, that's my chief concern. Depending on when you go of course

If you're thinking of going to a lake or the sea then it would be highly unlikely you'll be interrupted unless someone sees you entering the water. However imo its not gonna be a very peaceful way to go, until your body lets in the water it'll be straight panic and SI.

If you want my opinion I'd maybe use it as a last resort but not my preffered method.

If you took a boat out, tied some dumbbells to your legs and jumped into the sea, pond, river, etc. then you probably would be unnoticeable, maybe some bubbles and splashes and nothing,
I agree with everyone else that this method is particularly gruesome and should be used in DIRE circumstances, It's your choice, always

I had a childhood experience where I nearly drowned. An aunt saw me falling into the water and immediately got in to save me.
I remember feeling scared and relieved to be alive that day but if you ask me now, I would (perhaps due to that experience) prefer drowning to hanging.

Umm I think there's a reason why a lot of celebs go hanging instead of drowning

Also - don't you shit yourself when you die? Imagine how unsanitary the water bodies would be if so many people were to go that route.

The lungs filling with water and being super painful is not accurate. I did a bit of reading yesterday and apparently most of the time your throat seals itself once water hits your trachea and that's what makes you suffocate, not water in the lungs. You pass out from not breathing and once you pass out your muscles relax and then water gets in, once you're already on your way out.

Exactly. For people who have access to all available methods due to their financail resources hanging is by far the most common method. It's still scary, but this does mean something. I think that drowning would be so terrifying that it would be almost impossible to not yell out for help, and sound carries a long way on water. Unless you are able to go a fair number of miles out into the ocean with no one around and the jump- that could work.
