Discussion Is anyone else going to ctb because of academic failure?

I'm having my exams starting november, and ending somewhere in january 2024. If I fail those exams it will be the end of the only good thing in life I have. I won't be able to afford living somewhere safe and I will have to be in my miserable hometown until the end of my days. Yet I can't study and I don't even know how to. I am not cut out for this profession, and I know it deep down inside, but there is no safe alternative.

I'm in a similar predicament. Except I've already failed. I'm just putting off the inevitable of telling my parents the news, how it will cause me to lose my scholarships, and will cost me an additional year to graduate(if I get that far w/o ctb). So, to some extent, I understand what you're feeling. And I hope you're able to find a solution. Just know I'm here rooting for your success!<3

Conditions like ADHD can make studying extremely difficult. Please see if there is any support available for you in the time you have. It's worth giving it your best shot rather than ruminating on a worst-case scenario.

I failed academically due to a combination of abuse and mental issues. I've managed to survive for many years by working crappy jobs, but quality of life is rock bottom. I would love to see you succeed where I did not, so please do your best.

This is one of my reasons for wanting to CTB. I'm young and still college age, but I fucked my education right after getting a full ride.

I was in my community college's honors program and I was set to graduate and move on to my first choice University with a full scholarship.

3 weeks and 5 breakdowns later, I was doing cocaine in school bathroom stalls bc I thought it would help me study better (like maybe it'd be like my ADHD meds but stronger). It wasn't.

Now I'm a fucking drop out idiot with 2 brain cells who can't function without copious amounts of drugs/alcohol in my system. Any dreams I had of finishing my education and getting my master's is shot bc I can't even remember simple things anymore. That's how bad I've fucked my brain.

being a student sucks. im just glad i got out of that sucky system.

i've contemplated ctbing due to academic failure during my student days many times. but now that ive been there done that, i just want to say that there is an end to that suffering. the only way out is through. wont it be worth it to have passed those exams, so you could get your degree, and get started on your dream job? it's not the end of the world if you fail, either. you can retake the test if you fail, but why would you, if you still have plenty of time now to study for it? take it a day at a time, a chapter a week, a subject a month. i promise, you got this, many other idiots have also obtained degrees and gotten through exams, you do not have to be a genius. it's not necessary to be an excellent student, just be a decent student--this thought process helped me with the pressure i put on myself that i had to do excellently or else i was bad. i also feel im not cut out for the profession and yet im working where i am, with other clueless humans who just want to get their paychecks.

Currently i'm not studying like for 4 years, didnt finish high school. But thats not the reason i wanted to ctb, i think is the acumulation of bad things that happened to me that got me depressed, and school is only one of those things. I think school is not really important to me rn because one of the things that didnt allow me to finish was mental health.

Hi I saw your post few days before, are you okay now?

Yeah I've written my story in a couple places on here. I was in medical school and was the victim of crimes by the medical school and forced out while still in good standing. So I'm not a failure per se but the net result is identical. Maybe even worse. If you fail you can fix things. Being a crime victim not much you can do. Sure it has been suggested post hoc I have autism and ADHD (I was diagnosed when I was 15? But my parents didn't want to pay for meds). I'm homeless or close to it know and only surviving off the state government.... I have no friends/family as they all abandoned me. This isn't going to happen to you.

I'm not sure what exams are occurring but they won't be for sometime. Work out a study plan, know what you want to study every day then get it done. Reward yourself when you do. Use music and different tools at your disposal to do it. Work on your relationships in your life as well. Control what you can control. I have faith in you! If you still can't study reach out to the school or doctor. The good news is you control your own fate no one else does! Thats an insanely powerful position to be in. I wish you all the best.
