I can relate, I'm also an atheist, but I also have these fears.
Agreed. Willingness to face the eternal unknownThis thread and comments give a prime example as to why anyone who says suicide is a cowardly act is full of shit.
Well, tell us what you really think about religion jk. I agree with youPersonally, I don't fear the so called "afterlife" because there is none. Once you're dead, you cease to exist and enter eternal nothingness. It is a scientific fact that there is no such thing as a "god" or "afterlife" and that the bible is fucking bullshit. Think about it logically, the big bang happened some 13.8 billion years ago, yet according to the bible, "god" created the universe some 6000 years ago. The dinosaurs became extinct about 65 million years ago, how are these religious god-worshipers supposed to explain that? Religion is full of fairytales and is utter bullshit, period. There is no afterlife to fear after death, once you die, you simply cease to exist forever, pure and simple.
Lol :)Well, tell us what you really think about religion jk. I agree with you
I'm an atheist and don't believe there is anything after death. I find it more plausible that the concept of hell was invented by people in positions of power to control their subordinates, rather than out of divine revelation.
And yet I'm still mortified of going to hell and being punished for commiting suicide or for leaving a hurtful suicide note (for people who deserve it).
I deeply believe that hell doesn't exist and I'm still scared of going there after I die. Does anyone feel the same? Anyone scared of hell even though they don't believe in it? (or reincarnation or whatever)

I agree and it makes logical sense. I am an atheist myself and to further add to your point, there is no afterlife because there is no beforelife. The time before one is born and has conscious, one doesn't feel anything nor has the capacity to feel/perceive anything because there was no conscious nor physical existence of one.Personally, I don't fear the so called "afterlife" because there is none. theres some theories on yt on that. The afterlife. If it exists it won't be something like Hell. The rules are too unfair. Someone that has good parents, good school friends, live in a rich country and a better genome can withstand better life. If you birth in a country were you are kidnapped and being forced to be a military child, that one would go to hell, for example
But, sometimes I'm afraid of what could be after, despite I don't believe in god.
Sometimes I imagine that the universe could collapse and start again, reliving our lifes.
it seems really fucking bizarre to imagine us dead and not even knowing we are dead.
thats it no life, nothing just done. nowhere to go or see.
hmmm, thats a very good point you made. i like that. thank you.Haha that's how indoctrinated we've been from birth.
Family: He committed suicide! He must be in so much pain to separated from us for so long! He have to help him once we cross over!Religion and the afterlife is not one and the same. You can believe in the afterlife without believing in any religion, doctrines, or any gods.
Religion was invented by men and its stupid for sure. But dont throw the baby out with the bath water. There are many convincing cases of near death experiencers, many of whom were atheists yet still experienced an afterlife.
I dont believe religion made everything up out of thin air. They distort the truth in a way that suits their agenda.
If you listen to people whos had near death experiences theyll tell you that the afterlife does not punish any suicides, but instead offer the opportunity for healing. These peoples stories are a lot more believable than religion because they dont have anything to gain by making up stories.
:(I have brain damage and my head hurts all the time also I can't function
I would rather just forget my time on Earth tbh and move forward.Ok there's what I'm going to do IF there is an afterlife. I'll review my whole previous life, to make sure I won't fail again while sipping a piña colada.
What if THIS is the bad placeWhat if we go to hell
It was a reference to a show where people are already in hellIt is the bad place but idk. I think probably we are just dead
We are living in hell right now, I ain't scared of afterlife, even if it's just nothingness it's better than this shit. What if we go to hell
...spending eternity watching others suffer...? Is that not we are doing in the real world...perhaps this is hell.I feel the same way. Although I am agnostic and I don't believe in hell, I grew up in a religious family. CTB is very taboo, and is seen as a sin by many. Even teachers in my school used to say that people who take their own lives have to spend eternity watching people suffer. Although this is obviously made up, that image still terrifies me. Sometimes it is the only thing that stops me. This idea also makes many people in my home country associate desperate people with sins, which is horrible in my opinion.
