I just read that put some peppermint extract into a small cap .pour it into your mouth and coat your tongue with it. spit it out and rinse your mouth with cold water . says your taste buds will now be useless for the next hour . Seems like a mouthwash. but not sure if peppermint extract is stronger .. than usual mouthwash .
I guess clove oil would have the same effect but that's pretty nasty in and of itself lol you may be better with just the salt water.
Clove oil acts almost as an aesthetic making your mouth numb., like you said, peppermint may be a weaker, better choice but if someone was hoping for a little indulgence such as chocolate or nutella as is often done by members on here, I don't think that will go well with any lingering 'mint' taste in your mouth. So it's a matter of choosing the lesser or the evils I suppose.
