If I were to aim a glock 19 to the side of my forehead, what are the chances of death/instant death

Omg, you would definitely ctb!! so lucky!! Also, it's better to aim definitely near your upper ear and directly near your brain and spinal cord :D:D

Make sure you know where you're aiming. I would also advise going to a gun range and practicing shooting so you can get accustomed to the recoil and how to properly handle the weapon. Definitely don't go in blind without research or practice, you will be more likely to fail and end up with severe life changing injuries. You want to hit the brain stem, any other target may not do the job.

About 90% of gunshot head wounds are fatal, so there's a 10% chance of survival if you don't aim right. I could see someone shooting from the side blowing out their eyeballs without touching the brain. You could also damage the cerebral cortex and cause disabilities but not death. If you want instant death you're better off hitting the brain stem.

The megathread covers a lot of this

to add on to this, there was a video circulating around reddit a while back where someone was accidentally shot in the head with a 9mm with a clean exit wound but survived with severe brain injuries. It is also p common to flinch right beforehand which can cause you to miss and hit something nonfatal but very painful which I think was mentioned earlier

ive watched it, instantly striked out the gun as one of my methods. OP if you are considering a gun please do all your research first. i dont want you to end up worst off.

A Glock 19 shot to the temple has a very high probability of causing immediate death, the kinetic energy and proximity to the brain causing devastating damage. However, death is not always instantaneous: if the brainstem is not directly hit, the bullet can still cause severe intracranial hemorrhages or brain edema, leading to a deep coma and death in the following hours or days. Even if vital areas such as the brainstem are not affected, the resulting brain hemorrhage is often fatal in the short term. There are extremely rare and negligible chances of survival.

Better with specialty ammo like 9x19 RIP, likely overkill but still awesome

death is very possible, but if you live, which is also very possible, it would be horrendous

if you have a brain injury, you may require 24/7 care and be unable to talk or walk or things like that and may be unable to ctb after doing that

it's a risk to do things that way

Lucky you, you live in a country where guns are common. I wish to be in your position, my CTB method #1 would be firearm. I live in a country where owning a gun is not possible so SN for me it is...
