I changed my therapist recently, because he got too arrogant and also was completely useless. Because he barely talked.

The thing is he thinks he's the only one who can help me because he's "autism expert".

And well he tried to blackmail me in a way to make sure i can't change the therapist easily.

Exactly by saying how important he is for my development and he can't guarantee for anything if I go to another therapist or psychiatrist.

And of course I'm too mentally unwell to know what's right he said.

Eventually I found a way to replace him, he constantly moved locations anyway for some reason. Probably his business not going so well.

The new psychiatrist and therapist in one I have now is far better and i made greater progress in 2 sessions than nearly 7 years with the other guy.

The worst thing is he really tried to blackmail me with trying to manipulate others around me to basically think I'm crazy and need is superior guidance, and that he's my only savior and "cure" to my autism.

He also wanted to make me into an "normal" person basically.

He's also the reason I think why the government thought atleast for a while I'm a real danger to others and myself.

And only he can contain it.

this what I hate about people saying "just go to therapy" so you go to therapy expecting getting help and a lot of progress only to face this. what your therapist did is evil tho.

Probably a narcissist because he's obsessed with his autism expert label.

Yeah psychiatrists can be real pieces of shit too. Just like doctors and the like the fact that they work on professions that "help people" doesn't mean anything at all

The guy now is far more empathetic, maybe because he himself suffers from a chronic illness.

As he told me. Well in my case it's mostly chronic fatigue and the other therapist always said it was only in my mind.

If you have something wrong physically that is obvious to you, you do need to find a Dr/therapist who believes you. Someone who insists that it is "in your mind" is probably not someone you want to stick with.

That's really why I do not trust therapists. You're basically being made to open up and trust a literal stranger with real consequences on the line; On the basis of a license, that they have "Training and education" in this field.

He really tried to cure your autism? Narcissistic "savior" behavior? Wow, therapists/psychologists out here saving people & society.
To be fair, trying to lock you into his service is really just biz. When your biz is declining, the best way to stop that is to make sure people cannot leave the service.

Has he expensive to visit?

It certainly does seem as though in this world, the "help" that people push the idea of just very often leads to more suffering. What you went through really does sound like such a horrible experience.
