Kind of surprised that my doctor (knowing my mental health history) has been giving me tablets on request. A few weeks ago it was Valium (which I stored up), and today I asked for sleeping tablets- Zopiclone and I received a call from my pharmacy to say that 28 tablets were ready to collect. I simply said in my prescription request, "I was prescribed these pills five years ago and am suffering from insomnia due to a bereavement" and they were given to me. My mother on the other hand with no history of mental health issues and who is experiencing the same family bereavement was given 5 Zopiclone tablets. I did wonder whether it was just a case of my doctor fobbing me off as he does not want to have to deal with me even though I have only ever met him twice (five minutes each time) and that was to sort out antidepressants about two years ago. (Side note - stopped taking those as they were useless). I also have a stash of Amitriptyline prescribed to me regularly when I was misdiagnosed with Fibromyalgia. If it's that easy, once the 28 days are up, I'll order more and store those up too. Just made me wonder how eager some doctors are to not have to deal with patients with mental health issues - they'd rather give you some pills which could be misused!

You're lucky. I think it depends on the state one lives in and the drs...I can't get shit. I am anxious due to reality. I refuse to see this as a mental health issue, but that's just my bit. I fucking hate them in my shitty town. They don't give a fuck and say benzos are dangerous...Well my fucking anxiety and insomnia are more dangerous. I am taking Seroquel and it helps with sleep...but I would rather have better shit. Two previous states I was in I had no problems getting good/normal meds for anxiety.

It's unfair your mom didn't get more meds. I hope she can get more if she feels like she needs them.

I was given Amitriptyline for anxiety...I don't think it does anything.

Are you planning to try and od on pills?

Amitriptyline is a drug of choice in many od's.. but you need diazapam with it and meto. I have a mountain of Amitriptyline, but can't get diazapam, docs here (uk) won't prescribe it.

Yes - but not yet. I have to sort a few family affairs out first which will take a few months and I'm also slowly packing up my house. It feels like Hell tbh having to force myself to be here. I have Valium/Diazepam, Zopiclone, Amitriptyline, Morphine and Oxycodone. I will probably buy N if I feel that the other combinations will just lead to me remaining alive.

I highly doubt I'd be given any Benzos If I asked considering my medical history. If anything, all I would do is raise more questions and concerns.

I said to the doctor " would you rather give me a prescription or me buy it online?"
That got me a very small clonazepam script
Now I get a generous 7 Nitrazepam a month from them
Gotta have a secret back up source

Hell no they wouldn't, because of my history with benzo's.
I am an addict to them & also overdosed on xanax and fentanyl in February.
I speak to my psychiatrist monthly & have been so desperately trying to get a RX for them but fail every time.
Le sigh.

Wtf you're dr must be fucking Idk an idiot...why would they care if you have to go online for antianxiety meds? I had this happen...my dr/pa didn't give a fuck what I said after saying I am anxious and want antianxiety meds.

I have never heard of Nitazepam...what is this? Secret backup source? What?

My personal GP? Yes. I was on Valium and Ativan for years, got monthly RXs from him. I discontinued taking them quite some time ago, but I'm sure he would give me a new RX if I asked.
