if you had the option between shotgun and SN which would you choose?

sn. people have survived gunshots and im sure we can imagine how that ends up. however if you get saved from taking sn for the most part you just go about your day after the whole hospital thing.

Definitely SN. It isn't the chance of surviving a shotgun shot, it's what the shotgun leaves you looking like that scares me. I know I'd be dead so what does it matter, but I would never want to put my family and friends through the thought of that image. SN is at least a bit more peaceful looking in the end.

So not to be too graphic, but one needs to have a high caliber gun or 12 gauge shotgun with at least 3" magnum shell filled with heavy shot (O or OO) and a good upward aim. Also need something to hold the gun steady. Many people end up in ER with no face and still alive because the expanding gases shift the gun's position. Plus, it's really not pretty for anyone to deal with such a mess afterwards. People have also survived SN after an unpleasant train ride. Both methods have also proven successful for people. I will not advise either way and certainly will not promote decision(s) for anyone ..... just stating documented outcomes.

Yea I agree with that. A shotgun leaves a horrible mess and would traumatise your family even more.

Shotgun. But to be fair that's my method anyway.
A lot of people talk about the statistics of failure but that's more on the user's side rather than the gun itself, as most gun suicides are irrational and quick decisions.
The survivability is somewhere between 73-92% for all firearms, shotgun being the higher value, possibly highest.

Although success rates seem to be higher with firearms and the time-to-death more rapid and potentially more peaceful, I fear the potential damage I might incur surviving a gunshot wound more than that with SN. But mostly, I fear that I may inadvertently hurt someone else with a gunshot.

In my opinion, the decision to move on and the method used is entirely a personal choice based on his/her/their circumstances, and is by no means an easy one (at least for me - I do not want to speak for others). Peace to you :)

It's very possible to survive that. I feel gun is the most foolproof, 90% of the failures are user-end.

Good question.
I like the anger in a shotgun. If i was feeling F*ck yeah! Echo and very "f*ck the world, you made me/you broke me" i'd definitely want the noise and the mess and the venom of that.

But if i was sad girl Echo who is a mistake and never should have been, never amounted to anything, just a burden on society- then SN would be my go-to.

Today I'm sad girl Echo and would reach for the SN.

SN. Shotgun makes you feel very intense and extreme pain for a fraction of a second and this is what I would be afraid of. Besides SN doesn't leave such a big mess after your ctb.

Shotgun. Properly executed it's as good as it gets. Can see the appeal of combining it with SN beforehand, but I wonder if sudden symptoms may interfere with holding the gun properly (say gagging, nausea, tachycardia anxiety, meto side effects, fainting etc.). So, maybe hanging, drowning, falling etc. is the better follow-up.
