Who says we won't be conscious after death….
And I my human self sure wouldn't. I hope my higher self agrees.

If you're conscious after, that is something. :)

Sorry don't mean to freak you out though. I'd say believe in what helps you feel most calm.

The collection of memories, thought patterns and beliefs that comprises the self surely dies. Not sure about existence in general after death.

If that implies still being conscious in this world that'd be horrible.

If that implies being conscious in any sort of afterlife or void I don't care too hard.

I HOPE that doesn't all go!!! Any destructive thought and behavior patterns yes go. But I hope I get to retain all my loving and positive thoughts and memories and connections! ❤️

well there is no factual truth for consciousness after death. Best we have is that our brain keeps functioning for a short period after we die.

No, I don't think I will, because if I died then I don't have any responsibilities to do

That's the scary part.
The purpose of CTB taking the easy way out is to No longer Exist unaware of anything into the void of nothingness. Just like being unborn
Thats what we believe about death.
To most of us here that's our expectations.

But then being conscious you said 😬
That's scary that thought is holding me back that means being in purgatory or being punished waiting for judgement.
Imagine that you be there eternally no point of return what you did can not be undone.

So I hope not then again we never know…..

If purgatory is real i feel like we would all have ghost experiences. I don't know, the afterlife never made any sense to me. I feel like if it was real, there would be a spirit world.

I truly hope there is no afterlife or any spiritual world 🌎
My whole purpose is to no longer exist unaware of anything into the void of nothingness just like being unborn.

But we just never know…..

From my belief base on religion spiritual world does not interact with the living world.

Again this uncertainty is driving me crazy I just hope to be certain death is death No after life no punishment no judgment no sin.

Would you regret the decision to die?
I think this is an interesting topic.

The total loss of consciousness is one of the big reasons I am really afraid to die, even if I want to go.

It depends on how, I guess. Just being alone with my thoughts in a black void doesn't sound too pleasant. Wandering as a "ghost" or something is also not that enticing to me, other than viewing the progress of humankind.

If it was more like eternal dreaming.. I think that'd be something I wouldn't be afraid of as much. 🖤

If there's an afterlife, wouldn't I be concentrating on living that? I guess it would depend on what that afterlife was like. If it was full of fire and torture then sure- I'd be regretting my decision. If it was in some way better or similar, I'd just be trying to make the best of it I assume. Much like this life.

Regret could come if we could witness the negative impact it has on loved ones. Plus- fear of what awaits us when they in turn die and meet us again. Will it be all hugs and tears or will it be a dressing down? Just look at what you put me through.

I'm so hoping there's nothing after this.

Extreme Pain is much worse than people know

I can't be conscious after Death because I won't exist .

The only time I can exist is if my brain is alive and functioning.

1 micro second after my brain dies i will cease to exist forever and never exist again. To me that is the best thing Non-existence forever

While in a dreamless sleep you disappear. So I don't exist while in a dreamless sleep every night. Where do I go during dreamless sleep? That tells me when I wake up the me or self is an illusion created by my brain. It feels real and yes u can suffer unbearable pain which is the extreme horror

All the thinking and model of a self are only generated by a human's brain

Who or what even am I? Am I my thoughts, memories, experiences, actions, beliefs, or all of these so no particular belief?

I think the 1000 brains theory is correct. And also the attention schema theory of consciousness is correct.

the current conscious thought is the one that wins the competition between on gun parallel processes in the brain

Most of waking time a human is on autopilot. Previous habits or programs are reacting.
If I ask myself am I conscious now ? The answer is yes. But was I conscious a moment ago before I asked the question and what was i conscious of a moment ago? What was i conscious of 60 minutes ago what was i doing and thinking then 3 hours ago exactly?

Most of the waking time is wasted on useless distractions like youtube social media TV media videos
imo I or a human doesn't continously exist even while the brain is alive for example sleep and on autopilot.

Imo There is no self there is only a brain and brain cells connected into neural networks.

The brain has unfathomable processing power . even the brain of 1 mm worm has 302 brain cells and 7000 connections between the brain cells. It can form at least 2 to the 7000 th power different patterns which is an an unfathomably large number much larger than all the atoms in the universe by far.

If there is nothing after death, there is nothing to be aware of that there is nothing.
Someone who commits suicide is unlikely to have regrets.

No, I only regret suffering in this dreadful, torturous and futile existence, for me non-existence is just all that's positive and is all that's desirable, all I want is to never suffer ever again, I'd never regret escaping from all future unnecessary suffering in this existence where there is no limit as to how much one can be tortured, all I want is to be unconscious for all eternity, I find it the most terrible tragedy how this existence was even imposed causing all this harm and suffering as a result.

From everything I've read, there is more evidence for it existing than there's evidence for it not existing. Bc if we're being honest, what evidence exactly do we have for it NOT existing??

But I also don't believe in hell or any of those religion-made/man-made fear-based things to control humans. I believe in the spirit world and in the goodness of it. (And doing so doesn't hurt me, it only helps me and those around me — trying to be more kind etc — so I don't see any downsides to that belief).

wym im asking what proof do we have like a study or a scientific article
No. None of this is "scientific". That would contradict the whole point. (And how do you know science is the big truth?).
There are thousands of NDEs, verifiable information someone received while unconscious/dead, OBEs, ADC, mediums, etc.

And for the other party, there is zero evidence that all of this would be fake. That's enough for me.

But also I'll say it again — I think everyone should believe what they choose and makes them the most comfortable. In no way am I claiming that my truth/belief is THE truth. There's room for everything out there. 🤍

Nde are result of gamma rays being over active during "dying process" and they are heavily influenced by persons physcology
