If there was a terroristic attack or smth similar would you sacrifice your life for others?

When I took the train some weeks ago the police had to stop the train due to one passenger. I doubt it was a terrorist or something similar. But it is something I question myself sometimes. It would be a good opportunity to die as a hero. Like if there was a hijacking trying to attack the the predators and die an honrable death lol. The only big problem I see with that is that I might survive this shit and live with permanent damage. I know this is a very hypothetical question. Furthermore this might be painful. This would not be the biggest problem for me.
Another problem would be to find the guts in the situation. I think it is similar to suicide by cop. The main difference is you can be a hero and it is seen as a good deed.

My life has objectively less value than most strangers', so I would in the proper situation.

I wouldn't save someone who's drowning, for example, because I can't swim and would have no hope of making an effective rescue. Giving up my seat on a lifeboat, doable.

I've fantasized about stuff like this, like when I was at school or worked in retail, what if someone came in with a gun? How would I try to defuse the situation, how would I try to make myself the only victim (if there is one, I don't always die in these hypotheticals tbh). I like to think I'd sacrifice my life for anyone else's, but not gonna lie, I can be a pretty big coward. I kinda suspect I'd end up just freezing up if it were to ever happen, but thankfully, I'll likely never know for sure.

I think I would. I've thought about joining the army because of this reason. Decided against it because it's way more plausible that I will suffer major injuries like permanent blindness or the loss of limbs than actually dying. I place no value in my life so I would trade it for someone who does want to live. It's not some heroic act, just basic reasoning.
