Also, I'm pretty sure because the hospitals are closed/fucked-up after the night and for a few weeks (inevitably getting raided by armed druggies, overwhelmed, etc). if you're seriously wounded, such as a gunshot, you're just screwed. Would this count as a CTB method then?

I mean, I can imagine many people going out in masks and stuff thinking of fulfilling their murder fantasies (or rioting), only to get killed by snipers, shooters, etc. Just staying home you're already much safer without fortifications or weapons because all the purgers would be busy fighting each other.

I mean, what little of the movies I saw, it really acts like the purgers are almost like a somewhat united faction that attacks innocents (though it makes sense considering what it ACTUALLY is in, at least the first movie). Thinking about it, at first it'd sound like a war zone with riots, shooting, fighting, etc, and then relatively quickly, get real quiet, because all the purgers are dead.

I'd probably volunteer for a militia, making sure one of those hospitals can stay operational, or something.
I would expect people to organize their own security, and criminals to avoid the event. There are places in the real world, without formal police or judicial presence. They're quite dangerous, but not the complete chaos many would imagine.

The main issue is that the banks would literally freeze and block all accounts and transactions during the purge so it wouldn't matter. They wouldn't assume people are going grocery shopping during the purge or paying their rent etc.

That's true, yeah, maybe it's possible that somebody could get away with poisoning the city's water supply? Perhaps staying at home wouldn't be that safe on that day either.

Let's hope for the sake of everyone the purge never happens and that if it does, let's hope people don't exploit it for their own benefit because that is just as bad.
