like for example... my problem is i don't have a car, but i wanna do the carbon monoxide BBQ grill inside a car.
and i think there could be some problems with doing it in a tent.
for example, i heard you need to sit/lay ABOVE the grill, because the gasses travel up.
so if you just have a flat one-time-use grill inside a tent, then you are not gonna be elevated enough for the gasses to go into your nose and mouth.

but if i was really motived, i could go to home depot and whatever else store,
and build some sort of coffin looking box out of wood, and i could make it just as good as a car, in terms of functionality for suicide.

but dude... building something like that, is like........
an extremely big effort.

but i guess if i had more motivation, i could do that.
even tho i 100% want to die.

but what else contraptions could one build as a suicide machine?
here's a pretty cartoonish example just to get the point across:
a machine where you activate something, some how some way, and then a machete pops out and slices your throat.

Nah but I get you. Suicide done right takes effort and energy and a lot of suicidal people often can't muster those most days. I'm sorry <3

Not to mention how suspicious it would be to pick up such a big project if you have never done any building before.

I stand in a suspicious circle drawn on the ground, press a button and a crane drops a 250 ton weight directly on me :)

I doubt there is a guarranteed device - but simplicity is the best - like rent a car, and put a hose on the exhaust and the other in your back through car window. It's how my cousin did it

How old was the car? Newer cars emit very little CO due to having catalytic converters. Not to mention it's not really all that pleasant breathing all those other noxious emissions from the combustion process. It would probably take a while to die by this method, but if someone is resolved, it may not matter to them. There are just more efficient ways to die by CO other than using car exhaust.

They built one at Los Alamos in the 1940s .....
But you don't need to go to those lengths. A shotgun, used in the right way, is almost guaranteed to be fatal.

You are correct - its not that that they are not toxic - but far less so than older cars - I stand corrected

I wasn't really trying to correct you. I know it's been talked about here a lot that newer cars just don't emit enough CO to efficiently kill a person. I'm just not so sure on that anymore. There was a recent case where a pro-golfer, Grayson Murray, killed himself with car exhaust from his Land Rover. Not all facts are known, though. Really don't know how old the Land Rover was, or in the case if it were newer, if he modified it by taking off, or bypassing, the catalytic converter. Apparently, he wasn't even in the garage with the vehicle, but rather in his upstairs bedroom. So, just a lot of unknowns, but a very recent successful ctb with exhaust. Unless they're holding back info and he, also, ingested something that contributed to his death, and the vehicle exhaust was just used for assurance of death. Who knows?
