I developed tinnitus during the pandemic. I now find it very difficult to study and learn, which were my greatest joys. My career has stalled. There is a certification I need to get by the end of the year, literally Dec 31. If I can't pass the certification test, that's it. I will CTB. There is no point in living. The countdown of 1 week has started. Wish me luck. Either I regain a sense of myself and feel like I can live with tinnitus or I die and I am freed from it. Either way, something good will come out of this.

I hope you do achieve what you need to and it brings you more hope. Tinnitus sounds like a nightmare though. I'm so sorry.

I hope you get the certificate with a renewed sense of self. I have tinnitus too, it is annoying for sure, I'm sorry you deal with that too 🫶🏻

I'm so sorry to hear that. I honestly wouldn't wish it on anyone. How are you getting on with it?

me either. Mine developed I think in Feb so almost a year now. I always have my fan on for white noise or most of the time I'm listening to something - music, audiobooks, watching a movie or series for distraction. I went to a doc at some point and got a referral for a specialist but with all else going on, I decided not to follow up. It doesn't seem easily cured and I realized it wasn't from a med so it's something else. I think something autoimmune has been going on with me but ignoring everything tbh. Does anything help for you?

Doctors suck at pointing people with a new diagnosis of tinnitus in the right direction. I wear hearing aids that play peaceful sounds. Also there are two specialists you need to check out. Jennifer Gans and Peter Vernezze. They are so good, I think it should be standard protocol tinnitus patients be told about them upon diagnosis. Both have multi week courses I've taken and highly recommend. They're a couple of hundred bucks but I can't overstate how much I think they're worth it. But even Vernezze's website therapistwithtinnitus.com has loads of free meditations and resources. These are two people who know tinnitus better than anyone on the planet and you feel they were honestly put on Earth to help. Vernezze has tinnitus himself. You won't find a more compassionate person.
