I feel sorry for her. Life dealt her a bad card. Maybe it would have been better for her to die than end up like this.

The article doesn't say anything about her mental state or quality of life, so it's hard to say if she wants to die or if she's mentally competent to make that decision at all.

I doubt this case would impress many of them. You'd have to bring forth something like locked in syndrome.

... I reckon I'd have to hear what the woman herself feels about it. No one else can judge whether or not her life is worth living.

With severe brain damage existential questions would be difficult to comprehend. Should the doctors keep her alive because she is scared of dying but dont really understand the concept of death when they reach the conclusion her suffering is unbearable?

European Convention on Human Rights
Article 3 - Prohibition of torture
No one shall be subjected to torture or to inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

In my opinion its torture, inhuman and degrading to keep a human alive in that condition.

Living like that would be a nightmare, and non of you would want to continue live like that for decades. Most important would be estimate her quality of life, if keeping her alive is dignified living and reach conclusion if her suffering is unbearable . The rational in major of these situations is euthanasia.

Time must pass slowly for her when she cant engage in many activities that brings human happiness.

How will her life be when her parents die? Lie in bed 24/7 and stare at wall for 20 years alone in a nursing home without love? It will not be easier for her to get euthanized after the death of her parents.

What's your obsession with this particular user? And why do you think others aren't capable of answer you? Weird.

It's like a default. They can't see other perspectives. They don't want to die so why would anyone else want to?

I too wish they had interviewed her. Though if she told a reporter that she was in a living hell and that she desperately wanted to die, do you think there is any real chance that her story would ever be published?
If she said that, she would immediately be labelled "mentally ill" and "not in her right mind."

Doctors and their hypocritical oath.

I suspect that the worst specimens of humanity end up being doctors. There are of course brilliant people among them, but what other profession where you play god so easily? Worse attractor of scum than even politics.
