Discussion I want friends before I leave

hai! I'm 18 years old and I'm going to CTB in three months, oct 25th to be exact. I've become dependent on my partner and I've been isolated from any actual socialization as I switched to online school my junior year (am now a 2026 graduate) and work two jobs, so my only irl acquaintances are my co workers.

I have a good portion of irl friends/ acquaintances I would say, but they all live about 30-60 minutes away so I rarely see them and I don't text them daily.

I'm looking to just have more friends even if it is just temporary. Idk if this is allowed or not but if you would like to be online friends please message me and I can send my IG, DC, or anything you are most comfortable with as I know it's a little sketchy to do this especially as I saw a moderator saying that there are people trying to lure in others into dc servers and causing harm and threatening to expose them.

We can also just message on here but my response time is AWFUL.

It's kinda silly to mention here of all places, but have you considered VRChat? If you can afford a Quest and a link cable or even if you're okay with being pc-only/have a pc in general, I'd say it's one of the most free, easy, immersive online ways to make friends. Most ppl on vrchat are there for similar reasons and also have DC. It's a great place, just as long as you use safety settings, use that block button generously, like most places online. But Groups are great!
It's a decent way of maximising social time since you can play it from your home and during a time I really needed it where I was really obsessive abt a partner, I met people similar to me and it helped me so much with distracting my mind enough that I was finally able to make friends again.
