I tried the "pressing on the carotid arteries for 30 seconds"

I definitely pressed on my carotid arteries. Because I heard this heartbeat in my ear and when I took off my hands, I could feel the blood in my brain returning back to somewhere. I timed myself for 30 seconds, didn't work. Timed myself for one minute, it didn't work. I timed myself for 2 minutes and 30 seonds, didn't work but I felt a little dizzy.

I tried for 3 minutes, and my hands became so fuckin tired.
I don't think this method works.
Do I have to do it for longer?

I don't believe this is a proper/actual suicide method? Even if you "pressed with your hands" long enough to lose consciousness, you'd lose your grip, blood would start flowing again and you'd wake back up. Are you just trying to black out?

Not sure if it's achievable with your own hand but it definitely is with a rope, speaking from experience.
