I know the feeling. Depression, loss of the love of my life, no treatment working, poverty, isolation. And when I had the feeling it could get better, my back gave up, insane pain, 2 surgeries. It goes on like this and I want to break that spell

Worst thing is that being cursed would at least give it meaning. In this universe, most lives just happen to be sad stories.
