I smuggled SN in the psych ward

I'm very compulsive with my attempts. I just attempt whenever I can. But I need a fast. I just had dinner, so I can't kill myself tonight. But I need a fast and then I need to ask the staff for oxazepam and yeah, skip a meal or two. I literally just got back into the psych ward, so it's all very new. But I think there can't be very many people who can say they've smuggled sodium nitrite into a psych ward.

I'm kind of interested in attempting in the psych ward because I'd like to imagine that if I ingest my sodium nitrite and then have some epiphany or realization that suicide isn't for me, then I am already in a hospital. If anyone, they should be able to save me. I don't know. I don't think that would happen but it's just it gives me more peace and more calm knowing that there's sort of a way out as opposed to if I attempt it at home?

I've never been in a psych ward but media makes it seem like you are constantly supervised or checked up on.

Is this not the case? I worry you'll be found after taking it and you're situation could be made worse

May I ask how you ended up in the ward?

Don't know where u r, but in the us they even have cameras mounted in the ceiling, a person dedicated to watching all the screens. They check on you every 15 min or so, Especially through the night (can't even sleep in peace). So, in this case, you wouldn't get far, and it would prolong your hospital stay.

I think they make night watch or . there is a room to watch you all the time (when you had a attempt .with a window.... also heard of some with camera lol.. but in all the psych ward I was, it never been like this. But I've seen some room like this.

but they going though the room, how often, this depends.. no cameras, no room with window..
and if you are in a single room or not. For the bathroom they have keys.
it's possible I think..there are some ctb in a hospital.. but I also saw this documentary with cameras in rooms... would hate that.

when you do this, and they maybe rescue you, (Or find out before this.. )
then they will always look there of course, and touch whole body...to find things..
so keep this in mind. if this is something traumatizing for you..(and a lot of other shit, that is truamatizing :/ )

Terrible idea, they will save you in time no matter what you do. Another thing is that you'll put the staff who trusted you in a bad situation. He probably trusted you wouldn't bring anything so he didn't bother to check you. They'll ask him how this happened and get him in trouble.

Any choice will lead to a very bad situation, forget about your SN and try again later if you are really certain about it.

The very fact that you think you might realize suicide isn't for you after attempting should be enough. That's your epiphany, you've already had it, you're just failing to recognize it as such. If suicide was, in fact, for you, you would know.

If you value your freedom, do not take that. The symptoms of sodium nitrite poisoning are easy to spot (methemoglobinemia), and the staff will intravenously administer an antidote (methylene blue) that will reverse the effects and prevent death. You'll be sternly reprimanded, with your situation aggravated by the fact that you jeopardized the safety of those around you (what if your fellow patients took the SN also?) and by the fact that you directly broke the rules of the psych ward. You'll almost certainly be involuntarily committed for a long time, and you will be at fault.

Sometimes it is best to be patient.

some wards allow phones, some don't. And even for wards that allow phones, they probably will require that they be charged outside the room (to prevent the charger from being a strangulation risk).

I had my phone always... only in one, we only get it in the afternoon ( not allowed during therapy) .. hate this lol.
also we don't know, if it's free will or not,(and country) there are some with more freedom and not many control, this depends on the reason why you are there.

I've read some review on hospitals / psych ward, and it's surprising, that people had ctb there... family members have written reviews..
