Im going to do partial hanging and I have a few questions. First off, can someone send me a link to a rope I can buy offline? preferably cheap. Second, im using my closet rod, but i dont know how to necessarily tie the rope onto that. Help would be greatly appreciated, please.

12mm braided polyester or polypropylene rope Is generally what most people ive seen recommended. Id definitely stick with 12mm cause any smaller and itll hurt more. For your closet generally a bowline knot will work but theres plenty of suggestions on here just use the search bar to look at other peoples setups and they'll normally list what knots they're using :)

U sure 12mm isn't too thick? I ordered a rope which is 10-12mm and it's so hard to tie knots with it due to the thickness

I did my attempt with 12mm dock line and it worked fine.

OP I would highly recommend you test your closet rod before your attempt. Those are usually not meant to hold a person's weight and could come down.

That is the video I used. Are you holding the correct end when you pull the loop?

Im holding the standing part and pulling the noose part which results in noose widening

Thank you for that, any ideas to cut a 12mm rope with house materials?
Depends on what you have. You might be able to saw through it with a kitchen knife if you are desperate. After you cut it, you need to melt the ends with a lighter to keep them from fraying.

12mm is normal it could be the type of rope you went with as some are definitely more annoying then others
Heres some random things ive saved from people on here
• Strong materials: polyester or polypropylene.
• Rope type: static and braided. It shouldn't be elastic, as it will stretch under weight.
• Thickness: It will depend on each person's taste, between 10 and 14 mm is fine and comfortable.
