Abusive and low. YOU damn well know my history with booze and you just couldn't wait to rub it in.
No I don't. Sorry to hear that you struggle with that. I'm merely suggesting that it's no longer the 1800's and there are other options for pain control like OTC acetaminophen or prescription pain medications such as hydrocodone.

Obviously. But if you are POOR and without access to a boutique dentists your options are limited, which is why I also suggested calling a dentistry school.

I actually made useful suggestions— yes, alcohol is one of them to tide Final over until she gets professional care.

Welcome to 2019

I don't need your fake sympathy btw but thanks. I believe Final is also smart enough to take aspirin or Tylenol for pain. I specifically recommended Campho as it has worked for me in the past, in an emergency, before I made it to the dentist.

Hydrocodone? This is a joke, right?

I can't belive it, I can't.

Here's a list of suggestions to remedy a toothache.

https://emergencydentalcaretips.com...othache-infection-hydrocodone-for-tooth-pain/

Hydrocodone is in fact one of them. As well as acetaminophen. I don't see alcohol anywhere on that list.

And going to a dentistry school was not a bad idea. I never said that it was. I think that falls under seeing a dentist. Which she was probably smart enough to do, as you stated.

This is good.

Of course hydrocodeine is a good suggestion but Final needs a script for that, from a dentist!

Ffs. Dentistry is expensive, I was only suggesting alcohol as a bridge pain reliever before she is seen by a dentist.

Some people need a swift kick in the arse to go to the doctor or dentist. I am one of them, and i know many more folks who linger on with pain until it blows up into napalm.

Get a grip and read between the lines.

Okay. And? Welcome to 2019. Not everyone has dental insurance. I'm aware. I have no income, dental, health, or optical coverage.

I have one. On a bottle of acetaminophen. Thank you.

I'm pretty sure she knew to visit a dentist. Thanks for including your personal experience.

I said nada about dental insurance and in fact it doesn't cover shit usually so that's irrelevant.

How about you put me on your ignore list and i put you on mine and we call a truce?

I prefer to spend my last days in the company of kind, intelligent people.

Gee. Never would've thought of alcohol either. Must be rare like aspirin.

Dental insurance does generally cover work that needs to be done. Hence, dentistry is in fact expensive.

I don't know why you decided to be aggressive here. It hasn't been just me. I don't take it personally. Hence not ignoring you.

Nobody was unkind to you. I'm pretty sure a 4.0 GPA in college and 3 scholarships to a nursing program covers my overall intelligence. Nice try with a lowball insult. Good luck with all of that.

Sorry you didn't get into medical school. I really am. Did you struggle with organic chemistry?

Also using the word "hence" doesn't help matters.

That does not sound like a good way to go. I'd suggest following some of the things already suggested in the thread. I have to say, the drama in this thread is gotta be the most entertaining thing I've seen all day, which is saying a lot since I spent the whole day watching pimple popping videos on YouTube.

I'll say one thing about dentists. They can turn u away if u can't pay. I'm not sure I woulda been able to pull a bad tooth right away b4 unless I had over 500 in cash to pay upfront. I don't think I can qualify for carecredit but care credit is bad bc it will make a simple procedure like pulling a tooth end up costing u way more bc the interest added to the payments lol! I struggled with Medicaid and even if u have that, dental is not timely, and u might have to wait awhile to get it in till you're dying. Then your main option is the emergency room where they don't take care of the tooth, they just throw some antibiotics at u and then charge probably 1,000's for the visit without insurance. There's dentists all over, the problem is often cost or access difficulty. I have been turned down by dentists in my home town because I had no insurance not kidding. One guy refused to work on me bc I still had my wisdoms. I hate our medical system here so much, mostly bc kind of inhumane. I did order some fish antibiotics in the mail because I panicked lol! Clindamycin, guess it might work for people too hopefully. Trying to buy a little time b4 I develop an abscess. I'm trying to figure something out though. We have moved to more socialized medicine in the US and the results is that more people will be dying of minor things like this due to cost or difficulty with access for timely service.

What? We've moved to socialized medicince, so more people will die of things like this? No, a dental abssess is a pretty big deal. You would get in pretty quicky, and not be stuck asking for advice online because you can't afford treatment. Like you're doing right now.

The affordable care act which should be called the unaffordable care act is socialized medicine. I'm not really looking for help, I know my options are limited as far as cost effective and timely dental care. In Canada where they have had socialized medicine, people come to the US for life saving treatment because the wait for cancer treatment for example is so long u will be dead b4 u get in for treatment. As time goes by our healthcare will deteriorate in quality because it's not free market which allows for high quality, quick access, and affordable.

There's a triage system, people aren't waiting until they die for things like cancer, and if that happens, it's extemely rare. Less than 1% of Canadians come to the US for healthcare (not just cancer).

I don't want to get into argument on this, I know of one person who had to go to Oklahoma for cancer treatment from Canada, because it would have taken many months out there to get treatment. This was like some years ago, like 5 yrs ago.

No system is perfect, but i'll just leave this...

2009 study:

1600 to 4000 estimated deaths per year due to waiting times in Canada

45000 estimated deaths per year for having inadequate Heath insurance in USA.

The US also has many many times more people than Canada, so that's a terrible comparison
