I know I know... some of you may be laughing. Like, 'oh yeah like that's so hard to do'. Well, for me it was. Not gonna lie, it's scary that if this much was so difficult, what the rest is gonna be like but... I don't want to be discouraged. Please, if you have comments like these, don't say them.

At the same time, I just have to post about it somewhere. That's the other thing, some people may be thinking why would anyone care. You know, that's me. I always think about what other people might be thinking. Maybe you weren't thinking anything and I made you think those things via my words.

In any case, yeah like I know they say 'around the middle of your neck' but no matter where I pressed, I just couldn't feel any pulsing sensation. I found that the spot is easier to find when I'm laying on my bed though (but eventually I was able to find the spot when sitting and standing too!).

I'm kinda dying of embarrassment that I'm posting something like this. But I do want to post about it. I can't post about anything else, like places I go to eat or whatever, nobody reads me (well, maybe nobody will read this either, but I still want to post). So, I post about this.

Hi, I am also trying to find my carotids and I was wondering if you could say where exactly along your neck you pressed when you first found them and how long it took you before you found them? Also did you pass out? What did it feel like when you found them?

Hi, I'm taking it one step at a time. Sometimes I wish I could just do it all at once but that's not the kind of person I am. So for now I haven't tried passing out, but I can consistently put my fingers on my carotid artory and feel the pressure "getting distributed" across my two fingers.

I don't want to say how long it took me, though I will say that I was feeling very bad because reading the resources it felt like it was very simple and I was feeling both annoyed and sad that I could not even feel pulse (because I heard 'the real hard part' is passing out, not feeling the pulse, or rather most posts I found were people asking how to pass out, not how to feel the pulse, it felt like that was too simple or obvious to be asked).

I would say it's not exactly the middle as the resources say. To say "the middle" is not exactly wrong though, it might depend on the person too. But for me, I feel it more when the middle is between my fingers. So my fingers aren't pressing the middle, but rather the sides. And it's closer to the end of the neck than the beginning of it. So you have your chin, your neck, your torso, and it's closer to the torso than to the chin, again at least for me. I also feel like I have to push a bit strongly to feel the pulse. And, it's one thing to feel the pulse in one finger, and another to feel it in both. When it's in both, I feel like it sort of "branches" or it's "getting distributed" across both directions. I also feel like the pulse is "hitting" the center, rather than my fingers. Sometimes, I need to accommodate a bit my fingers to get that feeling that both fingers are holding it.

I have trouble finding mine too I feel the pulse but can't really pass out

If you feel the pulse when you press with two fingers, doesn't that mean you found it? Now I'm doubting if I did find it after all šŸ˜„ Though I'm pretty confident I did because I find it matches what several articles say about its location (there's the left and the right I can feel both).

I figured someone would say that at some point! For the most part, I see people don't judge here, but I've been here since a long time (really really long I think) and I've seen people who do. It's the Internet after all, lots of people from all over the world come here, and not everyone shares the same beliefs or personality traits. That said, I'm glad apparently it wasn't so obvious and/or simple as I thought.

I know people post some really intense stuff without the least care for the world, I feel like I just can't be that way, I think there's a limit to how much we can do, though it's curious to find out where that limit is, since there is a lot we're able to do, or things we thought couldn't do, turns out we can. Maybe, at some point, I can stop feeling guilty because of what I post or say.

It was a celebration for me, indeed!
