Discussion I drank windshield washer fluid and nothing happened. Why?

WTF?? This is the second time I've consumed a toxic alcohol (other one was antifreeze - ethylene glycol) and NOTHING bad happened besides getting drunk. It wasn't the euphoric buzz of ethanol but definitely a strong buzz.

I'm starting to think that maybe there is a God who gave me a genetic mutation that prevents my suicide. I heard if you're a poor metabolizer of fast metabolizer of certain drugs, you can literally be resistant to poisons because you're liver doesn't break down the chemicals into harmful metabolites/byproducts.

Or perhaps the one the sell OTC isn't harmful anyway. It's the EU so what do I expect really?

Try bleach. Or vinegar (not less the 70%). Even if you drink methanol, you may stay alive and blind.

No, don't try beach for christ sake.
There are plentiful of methods in the resource thread, with less pain and are more safe/effective.

this is scary. i took mosquito repellant liquid before a couple of years. diarrhoea for 1 day i think. nothing more. my stomach got a bit messed up though.. cant take spicy foods. the effects are not noticeable enough. does this mean i'm too resistant to somethings?

Careful with the washer fluid. This was a popular method to get a buzz in the town I grew up in. I've never known anyone to die from it.... but you do have a chance of going permanently blind.

Yeah, please don't drink bleach. I'll double that. You have to be careful because there are a lot of things won't kill you... but they sure will cause you a lot of pain.
