ever since i can remember ive wanted to die, but forsome reason lately ive just been wanting to inflict harm on my body without actually dying why do you guys think that is?

I'm guessing it's similar to what drives people to self harm. To express what they're feeling inside maybe. To intensify or release it in a way. Like a catharsis almost. I think some people have internalised hatred directed towards them so, they start to believe they deserve to suffer. Or, some masochistic desire maybe. You're probably in a better position to analyse the feelings surrounding it but I imagine you're far from alone in wanting it. I imagine many here will relate.I'm not a doctor but people i know that are fighting with various mental problems, often describe their feelings like empty, dead inside, numb. If you experience something similar, urge to self harm might be a desperate attempt of your body to feel ANYTHING, even if it's harmful. Also might be what Forever Sleep wrote. Expression of self or self hatred or maybe more exotic form of pleasure.Similar threads
