Pressing the carotid artery is an important part of partial suspension hanging, which I'll eventually do, but while testing I can't make me faint. I search for the pulse and then choke harder than I can , but I don't feel anything. I don't want to hang myself only to just feel a bit less air. How should I do it and where should I put the noose? Many here say above the Adam's apple and many say below

What rope did you use ? And about position of noose, it doesn't really matter from my experience. I tried to put it under Adam's apple (at the base of my neck) with the knot on the back as well as above with knot just under my jaw and was able to feel like fainting in matter of seconds both times. Personally, I felt more comfortable with noose above Adam's apple.

I haven't used any rope (as it leaves marks), I was just testing to find the "sweet spot".by the way I tested roping now and it left quite a bruise that will be hard to justify

I have read somewhere that human grip isn't strong enough to make oneself faint, so that can be the problem here. As for marks from rope, just use som padding and you should be just fine.

Shit, try to use some make-up or something if you can get hold of it without being suspicious.

Beyond rare exceptions, I don't think you can actually choke yourself out, at least not with just your hands. It's too difficult to compress the carotids that way, it's seems kinda stupid imo. I haven't really looked into it though so idk for 100% certainty.

But other people can choke you out, it's a well known fact. Probably it's a matter of inhibition.

I'll probably use my jacket's neck padding as padding

That's not the same, i've choked out people and been choked out myself (ie, used to do jiu jitsu). One cannot get 1/10th of the squeezing capability on ones own neck as someone else's due to leverage etc. You would also probably lose some strength as you got faint making it that much harder. Not saying it can't be done but it would be EXTREMELY difficult, especially for someone inexperienced with strangulation/passing out. Not a matter of inhibition

You could make a ligature with a rod and rope setup to choke yourself out. It would release after your out because you would twist it to apply pressure but, I just don't see the point.

Have you ever lost consciousness from being choked out? What was it like? Super painful?
