anyway i like to get drunk or high when i cut. makes it more euphoric. you start losing yourself and going deeper is easier. but also, when you swipe it helps to go fast. take the razor and apply pressure with the tip- then keep the pressure all in one swipe, swoosh! make sure youre using the tip of the blade because using it flat hardly does anything.
pain isnt really the issue. its just that our brains are wired to keep us from hurting ourselves. actually, the deeper you go the less painful it is- because theres not as many nerves.
if you do go deep, make sure to do proper aftercare. deeper wounds get infected more easily. have NON STICK gauze, and some sort of disinfectant
at the very least. i like hydrogen peroxide because its painless, but another popular choice is iodine, even though it stings a little.
the cut will take longer to scab, make sure to avoid getting it wet. i find that it scabs slower and water running on a deep cut feels weird. also when you clean it, use a clean towel that doesn't lint, and if it's bleeding a lot hold the towel down on the area with a lot of pressure for several minutes. once the cut is starting to scab, you can use something like aquaphor or neosporin so it itches less as it heals.

also, bandaging it with the non stick gauze is good, but let it breathe every once in awhile. if youre going to sleep or moving around a lot, bandage it again because any friction will reopen the wound.
