Venting I can't cry

I feel so miserable, i start my day thinking about hanging myself, i end the day just the same, dark, sad thoughts that bring me down but i can't get myself to cry. I want a release, a catharsis, so bad. Years back i was feeling the angsty teen kinda depression, i would cry daily, but i'd hold my tears.
Now as an adult i can't even if i want to.

I'm stuck in this terrible state of bitterness, anger, frustration. I WANT TO CRY

Can you prompt it? Any songs or scenes from films make you cry? I'll sometimes listen to a song I know will set me off (there are lots) to get the emotion out.

It used to work with some songs but not anymore :(

Are you on any meds? That can play a
huge part.
Been there. Was on no meds and cried hysterically all the time. On meds now and I can barely get my eyes to tear up. Both suck and are embarrassing.

No, i'm currently not taking any meds

As very emotional person I used to cry a lot. Every small inconvenience made me deeply sad. I never held my tears. Probably a symptom of depression ig.

But now I feel like something is holding me back and I can't cry even if I want to.

It gets real frustrating, specially when you're at bed trying to sleep and stupid shit comes to mind

I was unable to cry for a very long time and I still struggle with it. After taking those God damn antipsychotics for 10+ years, all my emotions have been blunted. Are you taking any meds that may be impacting your ability to cry?
