I have successfully made a noose that I believe can hold my weight and my plan is to kill myself after work in a week's time. However, I don't know what the best method of tying it to a tree is
Look up tire swing knots, they'll definitely hold your weight. This video is actually marked as inappropriate because of the traffic of people in your same situation trying to find a suitable hanging knot. Any knot will be fine, just tie it and jump and hold onto it for a bit to make sure it's sturdy.
