How to separate out the fear and other feelings that arise while contemplating and just before ctb?

Is there a way? The only thing I can think of is imagining having just pulled it off and no longer being here to feel anything. For instance, what would I care about my desire for connection when I've just died? How can other people matter when I don't exist anymore as a person?
