recently my urges to cut myself have been getting worse.
I currently have no way to access knives or razors so the anxiety has been building up and I am afraid to do something sudden and unprepared.
does anyone know any advice on how to calm these urges even temporarily?

Have you tried other ways of shocking your nervous system?
-a cold shower
-ice on the back of your neck
-raising your heart rate very quickly (try jumping jacks or running in place rapidly)
-filling your sink with ice water and dipping your face in it
-eating something very spicy or very sour

Sometimes I have to cycle through one of these a few times to bring my anxiety down. So if you don't feel better within a few minutes, do it again, until you feel like your anxiety is mellowing out!
