How to receive a UPS package?

Should I be home when they deliver it to my home?And do they need my phone number to inform me when the package arrives?

I had to call UPS once because they didn't have my info and weren't calling me either, so I had to call with the tracking number and tell them where to deliver.

You can redirect it to a UPS pick up store.
