Would this guarantee drowning?

Pool/Lake at night. No one out and I cant be found or rescured
heavy mix of benzo and alcohol to black out on
Ankle weights
I know drowning is a very painful way to die but with the alco/benzo mix black out. is there a chance I wont remember the whole thing?

If you really feel like dying atleast do it pain free. You don't deserve to do this to yourself, this sounds horrible. Please do yourself a favor and find another option if you really don't wanna be on this earth anymore.

I wonder if drinking SN and then take a bath to drown and ensure death. Hypoxia+Drowning . Would that work?

I think it could. I almost drowned when I took a bath without being under the influence of any substance.

It sure doesn't sound like it would hurt. Combos are always nice imo, and it seems like people have been dropping like flies from the SN method.

My problem is I have an ulcer, and on Stan's guide to SN he said it would be like pouring salt on an open wound to ingest SN. I don't really want to go out like that, but I was thinking about ctb in a bathtub too since it's so cold out now. That's why the 2M2B @Sensei was talking about sounded like a pretty descent idea to me.
Just anything to knock me out long enough for the water to do it's job. I have plenty of benzos and booze, but I'm not sure if they'd be enough to overcome my SI by themselves.

I guess it's all a gamble but your way sounds good to me. I'd do it if I could.

Just because you've blacked out, doesn't mean you're unconscious. You might very well save yourself without even knowing it.

There was this thread someone here posted a while back about their experience failing to drown themselves using drugs and alcohol. I think it's worth reading if I can find it.

Man, there went the bathtub idea. That's a scary story. Thanks for sharing.

I guess the only foolproof way to drown is to chain and padlock a brick around steel-toed boots and jump. Something like that.

It's not like I really want to drown. I know it's got to be painful, but I'm running out of options. I can't do SN unfortunately because of my ulcer, CO's become hard to do because there's too big of a chance of me being seen, N's out of the question because I can't afford it (same with helium) & wouldn't know where to get it if I could. Same with H, I doubt there's even any for sale in this backwater town I'm stuck in. I guess there's hanging, but I don't know much about it other than you jump, and it either snaps your neck or it doesn't. That's how dumb I am about that. There's always a shotgun, but I'd really hate to be found that way. There's not even a tall building to jump from around here, and no reliable car to get to a place that has tall buildings. I'm just hoping to find a way out before or by Christmas.

Geez. To paraphrase George Clooney on that movie O Brother, Where Art Thou: "Damn I'm in a tight spot."

I thought about trying to drown myself in the bathtub before, I drowned almost completely when I was about three years old in a swimming pool my mother jumped in of course to save me.

All I remember is that my lungs hurt (not excruciating but some temporary pain) and then my lungs felt really tight and uncomfortable... yet then it started getting better because everything started going black and I couldn't see anymore and it wasn't that bad...but then again it wasn't a full drowning.

For anyone who is considering the ocean, please don't forget that there are sharks, stinging jellyfish, stuff like that that could make it very unpleasant possibly.

I've never committed a crime, i usually just date the police, LOL or make them my friends, but if it ever came to some strange day and they were chasing me I would drive directly into the nearest lake or river and die that way.

Up to you, but I would rather go in a safer river or the bathtub personally.

It seems like when you almost drowned that you might have inhaled water into your lungs. I read an article somewhere where it says something like that if you aspirate water into your lungs that it isn't that painful kinda what you described.

I guess so, you're probably right. All I know is I was touching the floor of the swimming pool at one point then my float and I were stuck together and the float turned me upside down, so my feet were sticking out of the water in my head was underneath about 2 feet at the most. But I was fully submerged for a couple of minutes or so, according to my mother who was busy running towards me. She jumped in and pulled me out.

But I do definitely remember it didn't really hurt my lungs that much, just a little bit maybe the first minute it was very uncomfortable...
then The edges of my vision started having black around them and then everything went black and the next thing I knew my mother was crying and trying to make sure I was breathing. I understand she was just being a good mother. It's not her fault. I just wish that she hadn't seen me in time.

Then I would be in heaven right now and never have gone through all this horrifying stuff on earth...

Maybe drinking SN while having a bath? You could sink after you get unconscious

I'm so sorry that you suffered so much. I feel the same way about my life . i wish i would have died so i wouldn't have suffered and so i wouldn't be in this mess now.

Here's a quote from the article :
If death by drowning be inevitable, as in a shipwreck, the easiest way to die would be to suck water into the lungs by a powerful inspiration, as soon as one went beneath the surface. A person who had the courage to do this would probably become almost immediately unconscious, and never rise to the surface. As soon as the fluid filled his lungs, all feelings of chilliness and pain would cease, the indescribable semi-delirium that accompanies anæsthesia would come on, with ringing in the ears and delightful visions of color and light, while he would seem to himself to be gently sinking to rest on the softest of beds and with the most delightful of dreams.

If one did find that "powerful inspiration" in a tub, small pool or even shallow water, I wonder if a single, full inhalation (of water) would do it(?)

Or would that lung-full send one directly scrambling to the surface in order to cough and gag in an attempt to expel it.

Do you guys think that drowning in a beach is a good idea?
The water is really cold this time of a year & I think that makes everything worse right? Drowning just seems like the easiest least complex way

Drowning and burning are the best way to die. I wish I could be burned at the stake like Joan of Arc

@Xena87 - are you serious? Burning sounds like one of the most horrible ways to die...even if given the configuration of Joan of Arc's stake was such that she probably lost consciousness from the fumes burning wood generates, and that type of suffocation is is probably the second worst way to go. Sorry to ask, and if you do not wish to answer this please feel free, but I would be really interested to know why this would appeal to you so much as a way to CTB?

@Mizzmini45, do you know about shallow water blackouts? There's a method to blackout through hyperventilation, maybe that would be worth consideration

Drowning in combination with a bridge-jump is one of my methods. I hadn't thought about ankle weights but they seem like a good idea. This is something I'll have to look more into.

I disagree, I feel dying in your sleep is the worst way to go. It's a travesty to die and not feel it, what a dishonourable way to say goodbye. I believe In order to die and our soul to be released from our human body, we need to feel our death to end our human experience and enter into the next dimension.
Fire and water is nature and completely eradicates our bodies...all is left is our spirit. This is the true way to die!
When we feel the pain of our life ending, we are assured of our death... We know we know this is the end. Water and fire is also the way to avoid our spirit being trapped in the earth realm (limbo). Why die only to be trapped here still?....
I confess I am a sinner, I wish so much for death that I am contemplating beachy head....but I do know I am sabotaging my freedom in the after life. I wish so much to drown or burn..for freedom
