It's really a tricky situation. I actually do know people who've met their serious relationships through such things as Tinder or Bumble. It can happen at least in well-populated areas.

But I also know people who only met their partners by being at the right place at the right time. Confidence really is key to dating as well as loving yourself beforehand in the process. I to am on the shorter side (5'7) and have dated women slightly taller then me. I never let my height bother me mostly because I love the way I am built, only one time did a female I was interested in tell me no over height and yes, it was online.

The problem is online dating, it is a flawed and mostly broken system which is why you will almost always see the same women on there. It created people to be selective in who they wish to match up with compared to being able to analyze someone in person, so it is a pure superficial experience.

A good example I like to use is how many times I've told someone no or not responded because I am not particularly attracted to obesity due to my active lifestyle. Tells us is a bit over the expected. People don't waste time on this, or if they do it's bad intentions. Perhaps we would be only motivated if we saw the least sign of interest, and would do it on our own, because it satisfies the other person's expectations. But I rely on common sense to be developed in people to differentiate in case they are pushed, is it for their own good, or for their parnter's unhealthy control wishes satisfied.
