How often do you hear the "someone has it worse than you"?

I hear the "things get as you grow" argument, and the "your brain os not fully developed so you are not objective" one. I give a fuck. Even if things get better I don't fucking care and I refuse enduring my actual situation.
Oh, yea, I'm lucky for having covered my basic needs... Others are worse than me and I'm ungrateful... God... I hear this DAILY and is hell. Here too with the rising toxicity of some members, and every fucking day in my real shit life.
Also, what do you think of "depressed people is not realistic"? I spit on all them.

Of course there's going to be someone worse off than you. There're also people worse off than me that are incredibly happy and lead more wholesome lives. There are people living in huts made of mud, that may never bat an eyelid. It's entirely subjective, and has no baring on the reality the particular individual experiences.
Basically, it's budget, feel-good philosophy horseshit, that people can blabber with no insight, intelligence or reference. They say it to save face, and make themselves appear to have charitable qualities. When in actuality, they likely don't do shit to help people lower on the ladder, and talking this kind of nonsense will only make someone feel more anxious, helpless and embarrassed about their own personal circumstance.
Anyone that utters this faux sentiment is an ignorant dick, in my opinion.

I just respond with this when people say dumb shit on this matter ''Telling someone not to be sad because others have it worse, is like telling people they can't be happy because others have it better.''
Shuts them right up.

I see that on reddit all the time. And my mom loves to bring it up too, like "our neighbor is an alcoholic just like your father but his kids turned out alright! so don't blame your mental problems on us!"
This argument doesn't make sense because suffering is subjective. People are different, some are more resilient to the shit that life throws at them, but some can't tolerate it, FFS this should be pretty obvious if you think about it.

SMH of course SOMEONE always has it worse off than each of us...but we do not need to hear it. Our pain is our own and not someone else's, it is real to us and that is all that matters. Society needs to grow up!

I remember my cousin telling me some bullshit about "Only the most miserable people in the world, the bottom of the barrel, have the right to complain."
*rolls eyes* Just because there people out there who have it worse than me,doesn't erase the significance of my pain. Just because the victims of the holocaust have it worse than the average rape victim, does not mean that the pain of the latter is now suddenly insignificant. Fuck people who say that shit.

I fucking hate this saying. Of course there are always people worse off than you, on paper.
Better or worse off is entirely subjective and in the experience of the person suffering.
Someone could be destitute but still not suffering as much as someone who is, for example, mentally ill.
Life circumstances do not necessarily equate to level of suffering and people who go around saying this seriously need to grow the fuck up and accept others perspectives.

When I first started suffering with my mental health I didn't have a bad life. It wasn't the result of any stressful or traumatic event, I just felt that way, which in some ways makes it worse.
People would say "What are you so anxious about? How can you be depressed? There are people who have it much worse than you who aren't depressed", with no irony, as if I would think "Oh yeah, you're right, such and such has a really bad life, therefore I magically feel OK now".
It doesn't work like that.

i heard it most of the time irl rather than online, but i guess i'm also very obsessed with that idea?
Like, now i can't tell how frequently i hear it because most of the time i'm telling it to myself, you know...
Honestly, I know for a fact that someone out there has it worse than me and I am impressed by their will to survive and try to get themselves a better life. But I can't so I am here and I don't give a f*** about that statement when someone tells me that :)
My parents tell this shit a lot whenever I freak out or get sad etc. They tell about the kids in Africa and how they're starving and have to walk a long ways to get water etc. Yeah, I know. I am aware it could be worse. I could be some starving, dehydrated, boiling African kid with no food, no water, and no AC. Then life would REALLY suck.
Or would it?
It's funny, because you actually see a lot of people in severe poverty realize their situation, but they're still grateful and happy for the good things in life they have. Whereas a ton of rich people are depressed. including a distant cousin of mine. People could have it "worse" then us, but this is utterly irrelevant when we're still sad.
Some people were supposed to be born here and enjoy a great life, others weren't. It's just the way it is, and even if we are spoiled and have what would be seen as a great to other people, we can still be wanting to CTB for any reason.
You've heard me say before people who should get help should seek help and only then they should try CTB if nothing really is helping, but in the end it's their choice, etc.
As for online, I hear this a lot too, but not as much as other generic pro life comments. It's rare I see places like these where people don't say this
And as a person above said, telling a person they can't be said because there are people who have it worse is like telling a person they can't be happy because there are people who have it better. Works either way. Gonna be using this.. in the event any person in the rest of the few hours of life I have left brings it up
Suffering is relative. Perspective is only useful when you are in a place to appreciate the view. Or as another man said it, "You can only speak to a hungry man in terms of bread." Don't give me the "think of how much worse it could be" bullshit when one, you haven't lived my life. And two, you don't know my personal suffering, which has lead me here. We're not even speaking the same language as far as I'm concerned.

Sure, things could be worse, but anybody can be suffering even if they have a great life compared to somebody else. Suffering can take the best of us and even if we are billions of dollars we can be suffering for a reason
Never, i only talk openly about my suicidal thoughts and plan to pro-choice people, i have no energy to waste on people who spout those kind of platitudes.
Of course there's people who have it worse and people who have it better.
But that doesn't change an individuals own suffering or their right to make their own choices.

The people who say that are part of the ones who have it worse.
These people strive to live long, awful lives. Even duped into wanting more life after they die. They're beyond duped. They all get real sad when they're dying. If I knew I had cancer today, I'd celebrate by buying a big pizza and sniffing it since I can't stomach eating it anymore. But I still like the smell.
I had a psychiatrist say this to me once, a real sadistic bastard. He said this to me in response to me complaining that I had nowhere to go for the holidays and spent them drinking alone in my apartment.
