• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

I don't know if eating acidic food would aggravate an ulcer the same way SN would, but I never really have any pain besides occasional mild cramps and I definitely eat acidic food.

Wet a cotton bud, dip it in salt and jam it into a mouth ulcer. Now imagine that pain in your stomach only a hundred times worse.

I really don't wanna get an endoscopy. Do ulcers always cause pain or obvious symptoms?

I think I could deal with pain, but not if it feels like being set on fire or something.

So you don't even have a diagnosed ulcer? The answer to your question is, "it would wildly depend on the circumstances." The stupid responses in this thread aside, the best predictor would be how much daily discomfort does your stomach condition give, particularly with food? If little or minimal, that is the best predictor of potential pain or discomfort.

I guess I'm a hypochondriac, but I always assume the worst and the assumption is often warranted. I pretty much never have pain or particular discomfort though.

Do you take proton pump inhibitors or anything like that? What about acid reflux, heartburn etc. If you can you eat spicy foods without your stomach catching fire then you don't have an ulcer.

I don't take PPIs, I might have some sort of mild reflux maybe but there's no burning or vomiting, no heartburn. I don't really notice food having an affect on me. I have excess gas and a chronic lack of appetite as well as some general IBS-like symptoms like stomach noises. I also have stomach polyps which I think may make me more prone to ulcers.

Hmmm, an endoscopy would be the only way of knowing for sure.

I think I can eat spicy foods just fine though.

I'm really just wondering if it would be unimaginable pain or something I could deal with or sleep through.

You don't have ulcers, or if you do they are asymptomatic or incredibly mild. You have been to a doctor, and nothing was found beyond polyps in your stomach. There is zero reason to think you would have any different symptoms upon ingesting SN than everyone else.
