How Much Lorazepam Would It Take To Die?

Hi,

I'm looking for help. I want to end things as peacefully as possible and I know from being around on here for awhile that that's hard to do.

My question is, Google says 10 mg of lorazepam is an overdose. I currently have 25 1 mg tablets of lorazepam well as 60 5mg capsules of Prazosin. Would a high mix of both guarantee a brain death? I don't want to risk coming back, potentially worse off.

I'm not very familiar with those meds, but I'm pretty sure most people here don't recommend this as a method because it rarely works (happy to be corrected though?). From what I've read, if it does prove fatal, it's a slow, painful death due to organ failure.

To kill 50% of mice with lorazepam you'd have to give them 1850mg per kg of mouse. Obviously the same tests haven't been done on humans. A highly suspect and unreliable rule of thumb used to convert it to human doses is multiplying by 0.081. This gives 150mg/kg or 9300mg for a human of average weight (62kg). 10mg is more likely to cause a non-fatal overdose.

Assuming the rule of thumb is accurate (don't rely on it) then 9300mg should kill 50% of the people who take it.

Lorazepam is rarely if at all fatal. It doesn't work like a barbiturate & won't stop your heart or breathing. Overall ODs have over 95% failure rate.

At about the prazosin? It affects blood pressure greatly so I assume enough would stop the heart.

The lethal dose of Lorazepam for a person of average weight is so high that oral ingestion is almost impossible. Don't do it!

I recently read a thread here on the forum by a member from Austria who was prescribed Barbiturates in tablets, he even posted a photo of the medicine box, but I'm not sure of the credibility of the post.

You're likely to either (1) be violently ill (2) sleep for a good long time (3) both. A pal on mine took a vast amount of Benzo's and did (3). Hes now right as rain. Not one to try.

I believe they can be, and are in the hospital setting. There are probably other reasons. It is rare and they've mostly been replaced by benzodiazepines because they are far less toxic.
