How much is the news affecting you?

Don't watch the news any more, it's either depressing or dressed up to be depressing, every story is designed to make out someone is being victimised by someone else, someone is a nazi/racist/bigot/whatever.

It's all sensationalised to be negatively emotionally charged, or is genuinely shit.

There's never a day where there's a load of nice stories. I'm sure there used to be, in the olden days.

I don't care about the news (anymore). The only thing I know that happened in the past months is covid (would be hard to not know about that one !).

That's true. Keeping them around doesn't change the awful news though lol

Eh unless there are any wars starting the news is irrelevant to me. Someone died doing this or that who cares its a bad reflection of a society that appears to care only on bad instead of good news

This reminds me of a line from "Men in Black".

I kinda feel like that applies here. Yes, there are some great individuals. But humanity on the whole is pretty sucky.

It does harm any hopes of recovery since current events do have a pretty big effect on things that are pretty important in my life and future.

I hate the news. It's a reminder of how horrible the world is and how dishonest people are (specifically the people "reporting" what is happening). It makes me feel small and helpless because I don't know what is actually going on, since it's impossible to trust the accuracy of any information I receive about anything.

That's why my "tinfoil" hat never comes off :)

Wait a minute... Are you saying that tinfoil hats being comfortable is not the reason that you wear them?
