People have died drinking a gallon of water in a short period of time. I would look into and try that before bleach.

Google it. It's a lot. And if you puke it back up, you have to deal with nasty chemical burns.

I don't know the exact amount of LD50 of bleach, but either way, like others have said, you would puke it back up and if not, you would succumb to a very painful end. It's not a good way to go. If in the event of survival, you would likely have permanent damage to your body, making your life even worse than it is.

That would be a horrific, incredibly painful way to die. You'd be in unbelievable pain long before dying, and would be very likely to call for help. Please choose another method. SN is cheap and easily available, and more importantly FAR more peaceful than bleachLook if your gonna poison yourself don't do it that way

You've been here since September. That seems to me plenty of time to have read every thread on this forum and researched every method there is.
It seems to me that suddenly posting all of these outrageous and unreliable ways to CTB is nothing but a game to get attention.
Leaving this world is not a game. It takes a lot of serious planning, research and soul searching.
I would suggest taking the time to do so yourself.

commercial bleach will not kill you if ingested. you'd need factory grade bleach. i understand you're in a rough place but please take some deep breaths. we're here for you

This isn't the place for attention seeking in this way.
This place is a safe plce for people to come to received genuine understanding and empathy from others who are at the same place in their lives. It is a place for people to come and research safe, effective ways to CTB .. and to receive help to recover, if that's what they need.
It is not a place for foolish, childish games.
Posting three different threads at midnight while playing on the computer with asinine questions about dangerous methods that will do serious harm is NOT what this place is for.

Isnt there a gas method that involves bleach? I'll try and find it in the resources.

Bleach is extremely caustic, and can effectually burn through soft tissue. A person attempting with bleach should expect significant pain while dying, and nasty consequences on the 50% chance that they should fail. I recall a video of a man who failed with bleach. It damaged his stomach so badly that they had to remove it and connect his intestines to his esophagus. You could see it running up through the skin of his chest, and he couldn't eat food normally anymore.
I understand your view, but I happen to know that the OP is a genuine and very decent person.
Obviously with a site like this, some people can get into a desparate mindset at times, and may not be thinking very clearly.
So there's no easy answer, although I do understand how threads like this can cause frustration....Last edited:

They may well be a decent person, but last night they used very poor judgement.
One post, fine … but this was three separate posts within half an hour asking about terrible methods that all have the very real ability to cause a great deal of harm.
There is a wealth of information and wisdom both on the forums and in the method resources thread for anyone and everyone to view at any time and learn everything they want to know about each method.
Harm reduction should be a huge focus here... and threads like this - that some are taking seriously and actually providing info for... should not be encouraged.
I don't think any of us wants to see someone drink a bottle of bleach or set themselves on fire ... or give someone else the idea to try it.

Some people forget the coverage this forum garnered from the media over a person who ctb . This site does not need to be put under the spotlight again . People need to be responsible for their actions to protect this site and that includes methods . We reset our phones to factory settings , erase our history to protect this site so others have a place to go to .

Please don't drink bleach! That would be a terrible way to die, if it even killed you. If you survived you would have severe chemical burns and your quality of life would be vastly diminished.Can I give you some advice.. I did this. PLEASE DONT DO THIS. There are better ways to CTB. I didn't it and the regret was instant. You choke and suffocate and spew up bloody foam. And can't breathe and panic and FITB. It's awful. And it didn't even work. The neighbors heard the noise. I was well aware that swallowing such stuff would be an awful way to leave the world and was not even guaranteed to do the job but my mind was in a desperate search for something to give me a feeling of calmness and control over the direction of my miserable existence that I seriously considered it. I didn't have a full bleach product in my possession but my feeling was that the suffering I would undergo drinking a product with bleach in it would be a relief compared to having to keep going back to my workplace for 8.5 hours per day.
Sometimes, when you don't have the resolution to go forward with something like jumping off a building or perhaps you are unable to get SN because you fear loved ones will discover it or even see your purchase of it recorded on your bank account, it might be a psychological comfort--thought a spur to serious action--when one's stress and misery is especially intense to ask others to give some encouragement to the idea that one can easily exit the world using commonly available items like bleach.
Yes, it is important to stress that if it does kill you, it will take days and while it is killing you, you will be in never-ending pain like only the devil himself could conjure up.Last edited:

Reminds me of the story of a nurse I read on reddit who said she often got the people who had tried to OD on Tylenol, thinking it would kill them. It would kill them, but it would take three days to a week. Their organs would slowly fail. They would have to die with their family around them, mourning them. Many of them would change their mind, start to beg for their lives, and realize they had no choice, they had succeed in killing themselves, and were basically waking dead until they close their eyes that final time.
